TitleSelf Working Mental Magic by Karl Fulves

Cost I found this in Waterstone's bargin bucket for £1.99

Difficulty: 1 All of the tricks are very easy to perform

Review
A very good book, packed full of easy to learn, self working magic.

If you're looking to get into really deep mentalism this isn't the book for you, but it you're looking for some easy to learn mentalist type effects then this book is great. It's divided into numerous different sections, all detailing a slightly different aspect.

Some of the ideas in the book are ingenious and well worth the cost on their own. Of special interest to me was the section on book reading tricks, some brilliant methods for book reading tricks that can be done any time and any place.

Overall this book is packed full of great ideas that you can easily adapt and use in your own routine or as they're presented. A supurb book for new or experienced magicians alike.

Score 8 out of 10

infact, £20 will fill yer boots for quite a while...

"my best self-working card tricks" is one of my favourite books, and once you start messing with them, you find you dont have to stick to cards, but other objects...photos, words...allsorts...

and for those who are especially lazy:

I've always been a bit of a snob when it comes to his books and the 'Self Working' title has always put me off.

This one has totally changed my mind, his other books are now on my shopping list.

im not fond of the "count this many, count that many" ones, but if you're only paying four quid or so and you find half a dozen effects, well...thats very good value in this day and age...

Lady of Mystery (if you dont mind the acronym) the card ones are superb in places...as is the "Scarne on Card tricks" if you havent already got that one...

One day, I'll succumb and order the ones I don't have.

Lady of Mystery, another dirt cheap book you might like is "Scarne on Card Tricks". 155 classics with the sleights removed and replaced with self-working mechanisms. Marvelous stuff.

(coo, when you type L, O, and M without the spaces, it expands. There's posh!)

:shock: Weird... or is it?

I've recently been thinking of "coming out" so to speak and "admitting" I'm really "psychic" in a Chris Morris stylee :lol:

going back to the Boosh, you could just end every sentence with "or is it really *insert previous statement*?...

that'll be irritatingly funny...

or is it really irritatingly funny?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that - it's something we do in the Word Censor part of TM - saves all that typing of long names :wink: !

Possibly!
Some of the others on the list are (but remove the dot first!):
M.DM = MagicDiscoMan
M.OFM - Mistress of Magic
T.KM = TalkMagic
B.F = Bananafish
M.DK = Mandrake
MOG = :wink:
