I've had an idea why dont you add 'I want to know how to do the' so it changes to 'I'm a smelly, pimple faced urchin who hasn't read the rules'?

:D

Anyone want to help the word censor out on "I must inform the..."?

Walks away whistling, pulling a tea bag out of his brew and settling down to Derren on the video.

I have this book.
Its cool, I like the cross-force book test.
I'd give it 8/10, BUT I haven't read it all yet.

I learnt the 14-15 stack from this book. It's incorporated into a book test and I was totally amazed that it was possible to stack a deck in this manner. There's a little cracker of a routine using esp style symbols and a dice in a teacup that is very cute (I've got goosebumps talking about this book). If you look through other Karl Fulves books there's usually a little mental section too!

I could never get the die/teacup thing to work.

Yes, all his books include some mentalism. In particular, SW Paper Magic and Easy Magic include some stunners. A couple of the books are set up as f---e books; please don't try to use them that way!

This book really challenged me to come up with plausible presentations. Effect number 55, if I remember correct? It's called Sleight of Mind and is performed with playing cards. I sat around for hours, loving the concept, but at the time (as I was still new to this area) I got caught up in the idea of "playing cards are magic not mentalism." So instead of discarding it, it was turned into a multi-participant "think of a word"/"Mind control" routine. Not an original idea, I'm sure, but! It got the ball rolling on interchangeable presentation based on simplicity.

This book often reminds me, there's a lot you can do with simple concepts if you're willing to use a bit of imagination. Highly recommended to anyone earning their chops in the art.
