The Effect

This is Luke's new release. The main effect in the book is a very strong and a personal one for the spectator. You are able to heal an inner pain in someone's body with a strong kicker at the end, leaving the spectator speechless. There are also two other effects in the book from Luke. One brings life to the living and dead effect and the other again leaving the whole audience amazed at your powers.

Cost

Coming in at around £45 from MAGICDIRECT.com

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

I would give this a 3 but nothing difficult.

Review

Luke asked me what I thought of the book so I thought I would share my thoughts here. I have a few of Luke's effects and in my opinion this is his best yet. The main effect Faith Healer is just poetry in motion. I have been avoiding doing a coin bend for some time now, but after reading this I will be putting it into my act. This is such a strong and personal effect for the spectator with the kicker at the end blowing them away.
There is a Living and Dead effect in the book. Once you have read this you will not use any Living and Dead method again (just my opinion ) . I kinda avoided doing living and dead type effects but this is so clever and easy to do , I can only recommend it to the highest.
The other effect in the book has you the performer tell 5 people in the audience their personal memories in detail, but get this. There is nothing written at any time.

There are some extra effects in the book from other mentalists as well

Overall

Before I bought this I was trying to get more info on it but couldn't find it so I bought it knowing it was from Luke.
I am so glad I did. It is worth every penny or pound. Luke teaches each effect in great detail right down to the scripting .
In order to get the best out of the effects the scripting is key. It is the clever scripting that sells all the effects.
All the effect are easy enough in method. One of the effects in this book is worth the money you will pay for the book.
Any negatives? I really don't see any. There has clearly been a lot of work put into this book.
I would give this one a 10/10 for both effects and presentation.

Thanks for the review, I've heard a lot of good things about this and have been thinking of getting it myself.

It is worth buying. Some of Luke's material is not so easy to do, but this is all workable material.

I felt that living and dead effects were getting a bit drab but this one just got me thinking again. And the other effect is just as strong where he reads minds of people sitting in the audience.

Bought this as an ebook last night and managed to read through it all too just in-time for my bedtime. I enjoyed reading the main effect ' Faith Healer' and yes if you performed this as described then it would be a killer, and an effect that could potentially carry you as a true 'what if ' spiritual being. , but I can see this particular effect almost being performed in a lazy-er , sloppy manner by some mentalists who may not want to cite the long ,complex meaningful script . I believe that if Performed by itself in the right setting this effect will not be seen as a 'trick' . But for me personally , I don't think I could pull this this off to do it justice...... Well not yet perhaps. I think you would need the right frame of character and
You really have to make an audience believe that you are what you say you are for this to have any impact ......

The 'living and dead ' effect was the real highlight for me, whilst reading through the performance script I was thinking " how can this be done the way Luke is doing it ? ". The effect really doesent sound so morbid either as some might first think ( being named 'the living and dead test'. It's such a nice method and one of which is effortless in technique , again the scripting and acting is what will make the audience gasp. Fore mostly a stage effect I'm pondering whether this is feasible to be performed as a closer group setting too, as that would be most splendid........

That's all I have to say about that ...

This is a very interesting read. And even if one is not going tom perform the effect exactly as-is, there is so much information and structure to eneble a performer to adapt it and come up with his own presentation.

I love Luke's stuff so I maybe a little biased.

I just saw him lecture at Tabla Mentis.
Great as usual.
