Review

I'm not really one for reading books (sorry!) but I've always had a strong interest in Geek Magic, I've looked at numerous resources before such as Tomas Medina's Geek Magic DVD, Andrew Mayne Shock FX etc.. these were great resources to learn from but since these release there hasn't been much out that has particularly grabbed me. I saw this advertised on Facebook a while back and thought this looks worth getting. So I popped down to my local magic shop and picked up a copy. There are two sections to this book, one for real geek effects which consists of genuine feats of geekery (couldn't think of a word to describe it), whilst the second section consists of geek magic effects which aren't as dangerous and involve a bit of sleight of hand and trickery. All the tricks covered in the book are easy to understand, and are covered with a high level of detail, no stone left unturned. This is one of the main reasons why I love this book, I've had an interest for geek magic for quite a while and there was one thing that I found was absent throughout a lot of the resources was the history of the effects. This is where Mat's book comes in, as well as explaining the effects, Mat has also included a lot of history about each effect and you can see truly how much work has gone into writing this book!

Overall

This is a great book for those who are looking to get into Geek Magic and for those who already perform it. This book has certainly filled a gap for me and has been one of the most interesting magic books I've ever read! I'm giving this book 10/10, there's something in here for everyone and even if you don't end up performing any of tricks from this book, it is still a captivating read that will leave you with your eyes glued to the pages!

I only have the eBook version but I imagine the content is the same and I agree it's a great resource for all things "Geek" and my first introduction to the genre
