The effect
Colour Fusion
The Magician shows the spectator that the entire deck is blue backed or red he then gets a spectator to select a card from the deck. The spectator then checks that it is an ordinary card, the Magician then gets the spectator to sign the card and tells the spectator that is the only card like it in the world. The Magician then takes the card and rips a quarter of the card out as a recipt to prove that the card is indeed blue he then folds the card up and places the card in the spectators hand who holds it tight the magician makes some magic moves over the spectators hand when the spectator opens their hand they find that the card is now red the spectator checks that the peice the Magician ripped out fits and that their signature fits aswell. The spectator can keep the card as a reminder of the amazing trick they had experienced.

Cost
£20.00

Difficulty
4=Advanced sleights used.

Review
This trick is brilliant to do on a spectator who looks like their ready to be amazed. The cards can be examined before hand just to check it's an ordinary deck ive had no problems with this trick but you do need to be good at slight of hand and you have to have quite a bit of patience.

Overall
I give it a 9/10

There are two versions of this effect included and it may have been worth mentionning this, although it is reviewed elsewhere on TM.

The easier version which most perform is just as visual and is perhaps a skill level of 2. I'd agree that the restored card is rated as a 4.

Ta da .......... http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic2639.p ... our+fusion

Just one question - what sleights are needed to pull this off :?: I don't wanna buy this, only to find that it's beyond my capabilities :? PM me if necessary please

If you're performing the easy version then none. It's actually a very good trick that geats great reactions. I always perform this for couples when table hopping as I find that it works best this way and I would recommend it.

There's also a good lesson in card splitting.

Well ... I tried this out tonight on my bro-in-law and the reaction was priceless
I performed the simple version, where it changes colour in the spec's hand. To me it's fairly obvious what's happening - but, going from the reaction I got - this is not the case to your average spec. We were sat down in a local pub and I left the 2 halves of the card on the table for him to examine. All he kept doing, for 20-30 mins, was keep looking at the cards and turning them over and matching the faces and signatures up and saying things like, "this isn't physically possible."

Heh heh - this is well worth the money

Watch this space - I'll keep u posted

Did you find it hard making the 'Fusion Cards', i found them sooooo hard, wrecked too many cards doing it.

This improes greratly with practice and I would recommend from experience that you look to make batches of cards rather than just a few at a time.

Be prepared to write off the first five cards from a batch of 20 or so and you'll find it more worthwhile doing it this way.

I bought the art of card splitting DVD recently and there are a few tips that may help.

1. Buy a good chopping solid non-wood board from Asda etc. to work on. I got one for around £2.50 and it will last a lifetime if used just for this.
2. Get a decent madelling knofe and only use blades when they are at their sharpest.
3. Get a wall paper seam roller to do the edges after glueing, about £2.50 from B&Q
4. When you've split the cards that you are usung, don't glue them straight away. Press the pieces overnight between two stiff surfaces and some cheap power clamps (a few pounds from B&Q etc.).
5. Then glue them into place and clamp again overnight.
6. They're now ready

I cheated :?

When I bought the DVD, I also bought a pack of fusion cards (£7.99 for a pack of 25  ). I knew that I would prob want to perform this as soon as poss, so I avoided the hassle of having to make some

I did that too

BUT

the probelm is that all of the cards are the same so if you're performing this in a table hopping environment and someone see's it twice then they are likely to spot that the cards are always the same.

I did think of buying the fusion cards, but i thourght it would b quite fun to make them, but then it took too long so moved onto something else, does anyone else think that doing the hardest effect you got to have long fingers, watching the DVD you see the performer with these alien like fingers.

Absolutely NOT!

The size of your fingers makes no different.

I recommend that you go back and rewatch the Color Fusion DVD and go back to trying to make your own cards. In my opinion it's definately worthwhile and there's added joy in tearing your own gaff card, handing it out for inspection (and a souvineer) and no-one spotting anything untoward.

THe only time that I buy gaffs is when I need something special and then I go to Cardmaker whose work and service is top notch!

I didn't buy this effect because other reviews stated that it was a bad effect with too much preparation etc...Now that they have the packs I may just go ahead and buy this along with the pack unless someone is willing to sell their dvd now that they know the method, then I'd jst have to by the gaffs....Also, There is alot of cuts in the vid, can someone post a vid? Thanks.

You should know that trading DVD's in the forum is against the rules

forget the reviews - it's a great effect
