The Effect
Most tricks are from the D***** L***, but there are really cool. Some of them are favorites of Blaine. Some tricks that come with it are Heat, Fastest Trick On Earth, and Here and There. Shows some flourishes that will help out in the tricks.

Cost
$29.99 download

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
2-3 Its for begginers, but it will take you to some more complicated sleights

Review
I think its great for begginers. I will help you with RRTCM because it will show you some thing that you need to use in it that are harder to understand in the book. Not many people like ellusionist because of the price but it has a 90 day garuantee if you dont like it. I say if your a begginer and want to learn cards i say get this because it will give you a very nice routine and help out later.

Overall
8-10 Mostly because it kind of costly but its pretty cool. Other than i think the people he shows them too are actors because they over exagerate on the effects.

I wouldnt bother.

This and those you mentioned were my first purchases. I would have been so much better of spending the money on other more practical and useful material

I heard good things about Daryl's ambitious card dvd, if you're looking for an alternative.

By the time you've bought Crash Course 1 and 2 and Ninja 1 and 2, you might as well have gone for a serious card DVD set, like RRTCM (R Paul Wilson) or one of Daryl's.

Crash Course 1 isn't worth buying as there are better learner packages out there.

However, The Ambitioux Card (CC2) is worth a spin in my opinion as there's a whole lot more content for the intermediate cardie along with some good ideas. I found this title rather interesting.

I can't comment on the Ninja DVD's as I don't own these

Crash Course 1 isn't a bad DVD in that the instruction is all crystal clear and the effects taught are all decent to good (Here and There is easily the one I like most and subsequently also the one I perform most often). The problems lie in the price ($30 for a handful of tricks and elementary sleights is overkill), the number of other products that offer all this and so much more for a fraction of the price (RRTCM obviously) and the underlying idea of the whole DVD. It's obviously targeted to beginners, yet instead of teaching a number of common sleights and building a solid foundation for the beginner it chooses instead to just teach a few quick fix tricks. This is in my view the exact opposite of what a beginners instructional DVD should do.

So it's not bad but there are a lot of better products out there.

With regards to Crash Course 2, and Ninja 1 and 2, Crash 2 I think is a worthwhile purchase and good introduction to the ACR. Ninja 1 and 2 are also ok, Ninja 1 focusing mostly on the pass. However from browsing the forums and a few sites it seems to me like the general consensus is that there are some better alternatives out there (the On The Pass DVD for example).

AJ thanks for the review. I have to agree thought with the other posters ...

RRTCM (R Paul Wilson) will be the one to get if you need clarifications on the RRTCM book. For just a few dollars more (a guess a bit more) you could get this DVD set. This IMHO would be a very good starting point for serious card magic. I'm still working on disk one at the moment. :D

Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Magic is also an excellent reference for card sleights.

The Ninja series is good Ill vouch for that but ONLY because thast the only video series I have on the pass and because as much as I hate to say it.. Brad is extremely competent with the pass..

But I have heard good things re Kauffmans on the pass and some other guys Pass with care so I may if I were you look there also if it works any cheaper.

Crash course 2 is good however.. the whole thing is based on one routine and .. quite frankly.. you can learn this from books too!! but cheaper

If you are looking for a beginners dvd you really cannot go wrong with Oz Pearlmans Born to Perform Dvd. There is a good selection of sleights for the beginner with a few routines all of which are excellently and clearly taught.
Other than that I would still go with the RRTCM book.

Card College is an excellent collection but I'd say it's more for intermediate and up. Crash Course 1 is for beginners and RRTCM is more appropiate for that level. And for the price it's a very good buy. But I must agree with you... Card College is difficult to match.
