I think what stevebo means is that most of their stuff is not original. It's mainly old classics and other peoples material that they're selling to you.

I'm thinking on purchasing the trilogy.

I'm not bad at card tricks atm.

The only thing is,
I can't do a pressured fan or a fan with my index finger,

And I think it's because my cards are wrecked...

And I have had them for about a year now doing continous tricks pretty much everyday...

Am I right to think that I can't do it because of my cards?

Because when I do it, all the cards just stick to each other.


And...

What cards are best for doing tricks/flourishes in the trilogy?

Year? Doing many of this flourishes makes a deck wreck in a week. Get some decks before getting trilogy.

Because bicycle decks seem a bit wooden to do some flourishes,

And I have these rubbish really flimsy plastic ones..

Is there any deck that's somewhere in the middle?

Get Jerry's Nuggets, a steal at about £120 a deck!!

They're rare though...
Plus expensive..

And, I do tricks/flourishes 24/7 and I would wreck them in about 3 days!

Just go for your stock standard bicycles, you really can't get any better

Bikes are perfectly fine for flourishing especially if you are just starting magic or flourishes. Forgive if I'm wrong but I just assumed you are still relatively a beginner in magic or flourishing. After a while, when you gain a "feel" for the cards, you will start to understand the differences between different card stocks. But for now, just use standard, cheap Bikes.

Once you have a feel for the Bikes, and you understand more, move onto something like Tally Ho's. Personally, my favourites are the World Poker Tour Bees, and Vintage Bikes.

Just been watching this for the first time and although the material on here is excellent and D&D are first class card manipulators, I have to say I'm rather disapponted with the teaching, or lack of, on two of the discs.
It seems more like a performance DVD as I thought the main objective of teaching something is explaining it clearly.

The silence thing, for material as complicated as this, is just not on and reeks of laziness and only fuels the pro-book side in the books vs DVD's argument.
I should imagine after watching this, you'd be inclined to purchase the books to get the full description and those that have their books will purchase the DVD's to see the moves in action. Hmm. Good marketing? Or Am I just too cynical?

The first disc is fine, the tricks are explained well and they are great tricks. They actually bother to speak on this disc meaning you pick up all subtleties needed when learning new material.
Considering the price, I think the teaching on the two 'silent' discs is far too ambiguous. I learnt the back palm from the Tarbell books and it was easy to follow each steps, as along with the diagrams, the positioning was explained. After watching the 'teaching' of it on here, I don't think I would have picked it up as quick.

It's a double learning curve here, first you have to work out what the hell is going on and then you practice it. The first part is uneccessary really and a bit more effort from the Bucks would have been appreciated.
Some of the teaching comes across as arrogant, look at me do it fast, now look at me do it slower, which is not a great way to pick something up.
The silent thing worked for David Stone as the angling was just right and he emphasised what you needed to do, often with captions on screen, but this doesn't work and makes the material a labourious task to learn.

It's great material, but I just wish they weren't such a pair of lazy Bucks!

They have been pretty lazy in the system and in this DVD. The Tricks DVD was fine. Good tricks. Good teaching. The flourishes DVD, well, I'm not into that so to be honest I havn't even watched all of this one yet. The EverythingElse DVD was good until the silent teaching part in the Flourishes101. The one handed shuffle was hard to understand. Good job I had Ian Kendall to clear up parts of it. The pressure fan is something I never use and wouldn't, seeing as I can't understand what the hell is going on on the DVD. Under pressure? No chance.

TG Deck flip you haven't got a hope in learning from the silence. Good job they've got two parts, one in silence and one in words to sort that out.

It does seem to be a bit of a marketing ploy...Theory11 (Ellusionistesque site) have a "1on1" (no innuendos boys!XD) section where D&D do some explaining and teaching of specific tricks and flourishes (eg the Werm etc). In honesty they're actually rather good at teaching some of their things, they just tend not too.

In case you are wondering, "1on1" is not free. $5 a pop for the download video to teach you a move at a time.

Along with the selling of "wynn" cards, D&D and Theory11 are making a decent buck I imagine. Either way I do commend their skill, Tivo2 has to be one of my most awe inspiring tricks that I must learn someday! Is it on the Trilogy or on the System?
