I love this DVD. A fantastic beginners toolkit. The delivery, energy and enthusiasm combine to make an inspiring whole. In fact I'd say that for a total beginner to card magic a bicycle deck and this DVD is a better place to start than RRTCM.

Well I finally got around to buying this after so many good recommendations and it arrived today. Just finished watching it with a deck in my hands and am very happy with the money spent. Lots of things on there that I shall be incorporating into my practice routine and the Biddle Trick looks excellent to practice.

To pick one bad thing out that I noticed, and it's only slight, is that the section on the Classic Pass is very short and not very detailed. Now, Oz does mention this at the beginning of the section however that is after you've already bought the dvd don't buy this dvd expecting an in depth lesson on the pass.

Everything else I loved and I will need to start my guitar finger stretching exercises again so I can get better at the Hot Shot Cut ^_^

I like the dvd also, I use some of those tricks at every gig.
And what you say about the pass is true. But that's because Penguin has another dvd that explaines the pass in detail
They reel you in by showing a little bit, so you'd definitely buy the other dvd's as well.

That would seem like it was their plan, it does smell of marketing I've already learnt the pass from other sources but I wrote that simply to warn anyone who looked at what was said to be on the dvd and may have thought "wow I get all this and it'll teach me the pass" sort of thing. I merely think it was a little cheeky to hint that the pass is taught when I think it's more shown and talked through and there is a big difference. Still, with this and a book or two, or someone who's willing to show you then it works well as a pass teaching *aid*, just don't expect to learn the pass from Born To Perform on its own :/

Wow I rambled a bit there sorry

An updated and expanded edition of Oz Pearlman's Born to Perform Card Magic video was produced in 2013. Oz is now 10 years older, everything has been re-filmed, and the explanations have been re-done from scratch, along with two added tricks. It's also a lot longer, clocking in at 3 hours 48 minutes in comparison to the 1 hour 44 minutes of the original.

Has anyone seen the new edition, and if so, what did you think of it? And if you've seen both, would you consider the 2013 version to be an improvement on the 2003 version, or is the original one better?

The 2003 version was the first card magic dvd I saw and I was really impressed with the material. Will need to check out the 2013 version too.
