Prohibition - Ultimate cap in bottle - featuring the cap trap effect.
by Charlie Justice / Jeff Pierce Magic

Price -£16.99

Difficulty - 3
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

They say -
Here's the deal: you borrow a normal beer or soda bottle from someone—anybody—at a bar, restaurant, party, or whatever. You grab a couple caps off the bar and give them to the participants to examine; one that will end up inside the bottle and one to cap the bottle with to keep the bottle secured.

You hold the bottle in your hand, snap the cap on the bottom once, twice, and bang! It is inside.

As simple as that!

You immediately hand the bottle back to the person you were working with to be examined; you are totally and unequivocally clean. Believe it. It is that quick. Lighting fast.

Prohibition can be done totally impromptu, completely surrounded, and it is totally visual! Seriously, watch the demo and see if you can catch it; they sure won't. They'll just sit there and look at you with their mouths wide open—totally "gob smacked" as the Scots say.

Review -

I quite like bottle penetration effects and this is my new favourite, no band snapping to worry about and more impromptu and cleaner than Passing thru by Kevin Parker (though not completely gimmickless)

though the method is similar to another method many may know - the cap trap effect gives it a really clean finish with superb misdirection - it happens right in front of their eyes and is such a simple but I think cool move - just wish I had thought of it before ( as usual! ).

the production of the video is excellent and Charlie Justice does an excellent job of teaching every little bit if info you could think of to make sure there are no problems.

the gimmick needed is within the arsenal of most people, and Charlie even teaches how to make various discrete versions, so I think most people will be able to get their hands on the necessary item.

though a simple concept this does look easier than it actually is to do confidently and cleanly, but after a couple of minutes practice you should be able to get the basic move off, so you can smile knowing that you dont feel liike you just wasted your hard earned cash!

i like this a lot and the price isnt too bad, so i think this is reasonable value for money!

I'm actually disappointed to see another 'coin-in' or 'cap-in' bottle, can, aardvark effect.

Especially one of this nature.

And especially as our TM member David Kemsley got there a long while before with the same method.

Sorry to sound cynical, but it's more of the same-old same-old.

Frankly, I'd hold back your money for the Wizard PK Ring DVD... loads better value for money, and you'll see a similar effect there.

I know I'll get a torrent of flak for these comments, and I don't even own the effect... so don't listen to me if you like the look of it.

Hats off to Charlie, it looks great. But I'm sure the more resourceful amongst you who already have the 'something' will know how to do this straight away.

Yeah, this is nothing new. Although it reminded about using bottle tops, I always forget about their wonderous properties... :)

ok. I'm going to add to this even though I think the discussions been done.

I've only recently got back in to magic after a looooooooong while away but have always been interested, as I think we all are, inhow did they do that,,,#### and can i do it too.

I think when it comes to caps in botletricks etc may be we're all a little jadeed. Perhaps that s the advantage I have.

When I saw this for the first time I thought Bu**er me what a clever sod, why didn't I think of that. It's as clean as your're really going to get. His way of without giving too much away passing the cap in is simply brilliant. so visual.

And I can say that because I can't bl**dy well do it because my muscle control in my right side ain't up to it. As soon as I work out a way I'll let you folks now. But have been doing a variation. don't look as good bit people still slack jawed.

ANYWAY, the point is I have seen and own a number of x in bottle tricks and this for me is the simplest cleverest and best.

Look at it afresh

Coin in bottles aren't too impressive. No offense just they aren't.

that's a matter of opinion surely, I'm sure most laypeople have never seen it performed up closed and would be very impressed by it, I know I used to be

where as with card tricks people generally know that you are manipulating the cards in some way, but with coin in a bottle, it looks like you are doing the impossible and makes it all the more impressive and exciting
