The fronts and backs of four Jacks are slowly shown to the audience and given to a spectator to hold. The spectator is asked to "think of any Jack." A moment later, the magician removes the named Jack from his pocket! Then the four cards held by the spectator are revealed to be the FOUR ACES! No sleight-of-hand. The extremely devious gimmicks do all the work for you! (And yes, the spectator can name ANY Jack!)

I liked this gaff card trick when I first saw it but didn't like paying $20 for essecially 1 (all be it, well made) gaff. Unable to find it alone I gave up and bought the trick and am pretty glad.

The effect is pretty strong. Most magicians will know how it's done when they watch the handling. Non-magicians will see you just did something but will be at a loss for what or how it changed all the cards in your hands.

The DVD is well made. Yes you have to put up with Jay Sankey who personally annoys me more that a pack of monkey high on cotton candy jumping around screeching and slapping me on the head, but maybe thats just me. Jay does show many ways to use the trick so you can find the one that best fits your style. Jay also teaches a useful slight that you can but dont need to use.

Difficulty: EASY. It's not self working but slights (if you can even call them that) is so basic you will be performing it before you even finish watching the DVD.

If you don't think $20 isn't a lot of money for a single trick, then this is a really good one worth looking at.

I like it a lot. It gets a really nice reaction and can be added nicely to the loaded deck I carry around. (ColorFusion, 2 Card Monte, Ultimate monte, and now Hijacked)

I didn't want the review to get too long and this didnt feel like it belonged in it. But one reason I really like Hijacked is because I've been using it to (1) feel out spectators. I dont tell them which pocket I am moving their jack to so I can gauge how difficult they are going to be by wait to see if they react, "Wait, couldn't you just put a different jack in each pocket?" or "What, bulls#!t, that's not a trick you just have a different jack in each pocket!" and (2) No matter how difficult or easy the spectator's been they all react really strong once they see the 4 aces. If they are suspicious of the next couple tricks they think twice before speaking up and arent as quick to think they know where the trick is going.

I have this and really regret getting it!

The move is visable and illogical?

I bought it after seeing Sankey do it with the letters on the back of the cards which then means you can't use the cards for the other effects.

I really like the idea but the move seems too open!

After rethinking the move and reading the above the jack to pocket is probably the best one for me because you could openly tell them you are going to turn the cards face to face which covers the move.

Has anyone else had thoughts regard this?

Why not just bust out a half-pass?

If you do the move followed immediately by twisting the pack and pushing it with your thumb out past your little finger into the other hand (I forget what the move is called, it's pretty basic) and then down right ask them "You see what I just did?"

I think it bothers you because as a magician you know exactly what it means.

The move is no more illogical than all four jacks turning into four aces.

and for petesake DON'T TELL them you're turning the cards face to face!! You're doing a magical and very complicated slight. Keep starting your sentences with "Now!" It'll keep their attention on the moment and not on what you just did. And if you are still worried shove the cards right into their hands. REALLY. That will definitly get them off thinking of what they think they saw you do if they don't entirely forget it. As they wait to see what you are about to try to pull off right out of their own hands.

Give Hijacked a second chance and the spectator a little less credit. (And while your at it, give yourself a little more credit at misdirecting.)
