Review

The postman delivered last Friday and I've been unable to put this down since. The printed instructions take a few readings to get the suggested handling and the diagrams at times look like they've drawn two left hands but watch the video and you'll pick it up much more easily.

When you've got the hang of the handling it will fry people alive

Although this isn't angle proof you'll be surprised at how close you can stand next to people and perform this and it's cunningly deceptive in it's method.

Overall

Worth every single penny!

I think the Japanese have come up with some great effects and this one looks like another gem. It's off the beaten track which is what I like about it. Is the rod made from real wood? And it looks like he switches the rod before handing it out for examination; does it require a switch to make it "examinable"?

The rod is made from real wood and it does require a switch to make it examinable but an identical unit is supplied for this purpose.

Surprisingly no one has asked to examine it so far

Thanks for the prompt reply. I love the sound of this. Incidentally, what is your line of patter, if you don't mind me asking?

One hopes you never ask a lady to hold your wooden rod.

I'm still developing the patter but I've gone along with a suggestion on the instructions in that I'm terrible for losing keys so like a hotel, I've put a large tag on the end of the key. I then add my own bit as to what the key is for and tell everyone that it's the key to my magic case and the tag so far has stopped me from losing it. Funny enough though, as it's a key to a magic case it now does all sorts of unexpected things.

I can't say I was overwhelmed by the effect in the video. It seems quite limited and the move is a bit clumsy...I imagine more can be done with this and a nice story line can be developed. Let us know how you get on.

The reaction this gets when demmed is FANTASTIC!

Last week, I had a group of teenagers that barged into the Studio thinking it was a sex shop!! (curtained Windows, young lads= Sex shop!!). Even upon entry, seeing all the little TTs sticking up in the air in glass cabinets, & seeing the words "Penetrating" this & "Penetrates" that, I still didn't think they were convinced!!!

So I had to "Prove" what the shop was all about. I told them that I would show them one trick, then they would have to go. I picked up the key, & they absolutely freaked out, it was high fives all around! I actually showed them four others, which they really appreciated.

As they were leaving, I could hear them say "How the F... did he do that with the key?"

Having had a knife to my throat, in another business (which I had for 21 years) I am very wary when a "Gang" of lads enter the premises, especially in the evenings, I'm on my own, & don't close until 7pm (often later).

These lads were o.k. so I'm glad they liked the magic I showed them!!

Best Wishes

Mike

I showed the key to a businessman earlier this evening and got a 90 minute booking out of it - I'm well chuffed now

Paid for itself then! I like the idea, but don't like how it has to be handled. I've a mind to how it works as well. Is it possible to do the p****e move to show both sides? With you holding it in the centre, else the chain will whip about too much  .

In answer to Jason's post, there is no need to, your thinking too much like a magician!

Mike's right - there is no need to use the p****e move

The illusion of pulling the chain and the view from the business side sells the effect everytime and if needed, you just do the switch
