Shoet by Mark Southworth and Mark Mason and JB Magic

WOT THEY SAY!

The professional card to shoe. Mark's closely guarded secret is finally revealed to the magic world.

Effect

Any card is selected, signed and returned to the deck. Any routine is performed ie an ambitious card, a transposition etc. The magician slowly removes his foot from inside his shoe. A card is clearly seen inside. Pick up the shoe and remove the card it really is their signed card.

You will love the custom built gimmick that will allow you to perform card to shoe with the greatest of ease. This effect is in Mark's professional act, and he can tell you that the reaction is beyond belief. This is without doubt the cleanest and fairest method for card in shoe. No fumbling, no loading simply remove your foot from ANY SHOE and there is the card in full view.

Comes complete with gimmick and detailed instructions.

Price: £14.95

WOT I SAY -

Lovely stuff really, you get what you paid for, very fun gimmic...doesnt takea genius to work it out, but nice idea for handling, very visual....er so yes overall am pleased with this little number...Can be pretty much stuck into any card handling effect, for an extra whammy....Those of purists who will say why not just palm it instead to the show....well you wont get the visuals and nice retention style vanish that this gives...

Overall 7/10

Cheap and cheerful, does wot th box says, good price too..is probably worth buying just cos its a handy prop to always have on you, or get you out of a sticky situation...

Isn't it easier and cleaner to use the traditional slight of hand technique?

(just my opinion)

Aparently quite a few workers use it, so no.

Yes by all means use some sleight of hand but the nice thing about it is you dont need to put your hand near the shoe when you take it off.... there is an element of sleight involved but the gimmic does make for some ace visuals...plus the spec wont see anything, unless they go rooting around in your shoes, which I doubt knowing wot mine smell like after a walk around gig lol its only £15 so if you dont use it uve not wasted much really......

Just to add, this is use-able straight out the box too, which is always a bonus

There's something a bit 'off' about finding things in a bloke's shoe, Derren Brown describes how he used to do a table hopping routine whereby the selected card ended up tucked into his sock, he then raised his foot and asked the spec to take the card to prove it was genuine. He noticed quite a bit of reluctance to touch things coming from the area of the feet! Now if the end result was a card tucked inside a lady's garter (worn by the lady of course!) then that would be something quite, quite different..... 8)

They dont have to touch your shoe or the card, if its signed they can see its theirs...so no shoe touching needed...i can see your not a foot fetish man Mandrake
