Available everywhere and not one to be dismissed lightly...simple and yet a real spec.-slayer! Classic mentalism thinking here.

It fooled the heck out of me the first time I saw it. The principle is brillaintly subtle.

I bought this quite a while ago and have used it only once or twice. I regreted buying it after as i thought the method was actually quite easy to work out. I saw it in the shop being demonstrated bought one and had worked it out whilst thinking about it on the short bus journey home. I suppose as a stand alone trick it is easyish to work out but with the right routines to accompany it it is pretty effective. Has anyone had any experiences of specs working it out or is it me being abit paranoid?

This is a superb trick that can easily be done on the spur of the moment, stark naked with only a pen, a business card & a few borrowed objects. Done it loads & loads & never been caught. (Well got caught for doing it naked once but that's a different story!)

I bought this as an afterthought from Magicbox and I use it all the time. That being said I don't use the props provided, they didn't suit my style at all. I have adapted it to ESP cards, and also to poker chips which in the present poker crazy world goes down really well. Recommended

While a decent effect (nothing new in the techique). I feel that the props are inferior in that each chip is unique in its own right. By that I mean the grain of the wood. Very easy for anyone to tell which is which. Should have been made differently. Possibly solid colors with the same sultilities.

To me, the chips looking similar, alike or different isn't an issue. It seems as if it is to the punter but after the fact that point rather fades away. The "magic" and wonder is the free will aspect, the pre determination, not the knowledge of the identity of the chips. If you think about it, it's the punter that "does the work" not the performer...that's the way the maker intended it to play out anyway.

Personally I LOVE the unique and individual look (I have aged mine rather severely)...it just adds to the weirdness of it.

I also decided to take the effect and use my own props. I went for Runes and a C..... B..
3 runes are 'randomly' selected and because of there shapes any question of knowning each shape with a 'whole' bag to choose from is never questioned. Runes are made to be odd.

I know people who do this with 3 different coloured Poker chips, but I do think that chips that appear to look the same adds to the effect, after all the spec. is well aware that you know what id written on the prediction.

I use this in conjunction with Joe Porpers "Poker chip surprise". First freewill using the chips based on the theme of gamblers and cheats being able to influence your decissions, then into PCS to show how they steal and switch out your chips.

Used together its a very cheeky and sneaky way to intoduce the gimmick in PCS.

This is the first trick that I have bought and was going to do my first review. I followed the instructions on the stickies and discovered there was a review already. So much for my first review, I guess this means I have to buy something that no one has done a review on.

Anyway i thought I would add a few thoughts of my own to this review on the same post, without repeating anything that has been said before.

I also found this trick fairly easy to perform but my one worry was that the person I was doing the trick to would ask to swap with the chip that was in the bag instead of the one I was holding. I have only done this trick 4 times so far to friends and the chip in the bag swap question has not come up yet.

I am not one of these people who has watched David Blaine or Derren Brown stuff on TV, I actually had to look up wiki to find out what mentalism was. I am interested primarily in slieght of hand with coins and have not thought of trying other types of magic.

I found out this trick was mentalism because it was under the mentalism category on the reviews list. I am therefore in a fairly unbiased position not having preconceived ideas about what mentalism is. I have not read further on it but putting it through the filter of my lives experience, I can see where mentalism comes into other walks of life.

The first is NLP neuro linguistic programming, look it up if you want to know more and tell me if I am correct.

The second is as a teacher we no longer use detention or give out punnishment exercises. In the school where I teach we use an Assertive discipline program, this uses careful word choice in disciplining. I.e "I can hear what you are saying but I still need you to get back into your seat as you are chosing not to follow the classroom ground rules. etc

I will say no more here as I do not want to diverge any further from the original review.

cheers

Jamie

I've done this effect hundreds of time & that has never ever come up. I'm currently doing this with Beyond ESP cards & not the original chips you get, I will always offer the person the chance to switch their card with mine, no one has ever asked to switch the middle card.

There are so many magical effects for sale that I'm sure it won't take you long before you buy something & can write a clean review, however 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th opinion on effects are always welcome, nice to hear other peoples thoughts.
