Omni Deck - Palmer Magic's Danny Korem & Jerry Andrus
Posted: Aug 28th, '12, 14:10
The Effect
The entire deck vanishes and either the Magician or the spectator is left holding a solid block of perspex.
Cost
This was in Davenports at a very reasonable £15.99 i think!
Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
Depending on your routine i would say 2/3 as at the very least you need to be able to DL and a Marlo Tilt minimum.
Review
Ok, lets start off with the actual construction of the Omni Deck, i have seen a few and this one in my opinion is flawless, precision cut edges to feel like a deck of cards, not much else i can say other than it's a really nice block of perspex!
Now for the reactions the effect gets, i use it as a finisher for my ACR which is quite fun, having performed for friends and family and a couple of strangers in the pub it gets amazing reactions especially if you fan your cards allowing a free choice of 52 then switch it in as they are signing the card, the misdirection is already built in for you!! Why over complicate things?! Obviously the finalé for me is having the entire deck vanish in their hands and they are left with their signed card and as they lift it they get the double revelation of their card being back on top of the deck and the perspex block, they swear they saw 52 cards!
Obviously this routine is heavily influenced by various magicians including the great Shawn Farquhar and i will in time get my own stamp on it, but for now it works quite nicely.
Overall
My rating on this effect is 9.5/10 it just seems like pure magic in the spectators hands, which is lovely! One thing i will add is do not worry about switching etc. just do it, you won't be caught out, which was my initial worry of purchasing this.
One pleased customer of the Omni Deck!
Again this is only my second review so all feedback appreciated!
Much love
