The Effect

A card is selected from the deck, the card is signed and put back in the deck. The magician then takes an indifferent card and punches a hole through it. A tag is then tied to the card and the spectator holds the tag as the magician puts the card back in the deck. The tag is pulled and it is now attached to their signed card.

Cost

£10.00

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

I would say 2 but experienced magicians would consider it much easier.

Review

Very nice trick. The are no real difficult sleights, it is just a case of being confident. You also get ten tags so you can start right away. It says that it takes 10 minutes to learn. I agree but a beginner may take slightly longer. You need to handle to deck carefully so you do not expose the gimmick. I tried with a booking i had last night and it went down really well. An important point to remember is that you will soon get through a a lot of cards if you do this often. You really do punch a hole through a card. If you damage the gimmick you can make a new one (instructions supplied). Bear in mind that you will also need a matching biycle deck and a hole punch to perform this trick.

I would suggest that less experienced perfomers should spend a few days with this before performance. You want to perform the change as smooth as possible.

Overall

I am really pleased with this trick and it is a very commercial trick. The reaction i got with it was amazing. Check it out if you want something a bit different

https://vault2.secured-url.com/jbtv/home.asp you had it right but you need to add a return after the link and preview it to see if it changes to <click here to visit> like the above.

So there I was happily going about my day, with not a care in the world and standing firm with regards to not buying any magic this month.
Then a certain TM member who shall remain nameless (major Tom) pops into MSN window and texts me the demo video for this and precedes to eagerly 'pimp' the effect to me.
Being strong of character and quite unshakable when it comes to these things I immediately got out my credit card and bought this along with £50 worth of other stuff.....bu**er!

Now I must say after getting this I am rather impressed, if a little skint, to the method of this and its striking reveal. To cut it short and am very happy with the purchase and it will be going straight into my routine once I have the one (I dont want to say difficult as it isn't) slightly knacky element down.
So a begrudging thanks to Major Tom for the heads up on this one and I've written this so I can 'pimp' this on myself.

There are a few other threads on this effect, I think under the creators name and they're worth checking out.

It's a very nice effect indeed.

this might be too revealing but perhaps not. I do most tricks for friends, and due to the casual nature they like looking at the deck afterwards and such. In the case of this trick is that possible? Or would they find a gimmick? I like tricks that end clean. Thanks.

You are not left clean straight away but clean up is very easy. I would suspect that the deck could be examined briefly without cleanup without being discovered but that is slightly risky.
Honestly if you have the basics down clean up would be no more than a sloppy p**m on the off beat whilst their are inspecting the newly revealed card.

I dont think that gives anything away.

It doesn't, you're quire right.

May i also say that the pimping of this effect to Greedoniz was entirely justified because it's an outstanding effect.

I just have one question. Can you show the face of the card as you're punching the hole in it?
