The Effect

Im sure no one needs this, but for the heck of it... You hand a person an imaginary deck and tell them to pull a card out, flip it over, and put it back in. You then take out a real deck and show them that there is only one card flipped over...their card.

Cost

about $10 depending on where you buy it.

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

IMHO=1 (Im a complete newbie to magic...this took 15 minutes to memorize and nail down.)

Review

Absolute beauty. Extremely easy to master and gets great reactions.

Overall

Worth it! Great trick.

Try here for $5.49, or here for a much better purchase that will let you make it, and other stuff :P.

Well I was incredibly dissapointed with this trick. Whilst the principle is indeed very clever (and simple) it just seems too prone to potenital failure.

I cant reveal here where I think the problem lies, suffice it to say that I think it is too easy to accidently reveal the wrong card.

Am I doing something wrong when this trick is meant to be failsafe? Was I sold a poor quality deck?

It should work every time, it's possible your handling is poor or you have a poor deck it's impossible to tell without seeing it.

Feel free to PM me with the problem if you'd like as I own this deck...

Never had this one fail, provided you remember wether your black kings or red kings are odd or even (hope im not exposing here) then your home and dry, in fact,t his is one of the strongest magic effects available.

Thanks but the problem was physical, not mental if you know what I mean. Kati has helped me out so I will practice some more.

I am new at this and this was my first gimmick purchase. I have to say I think it's fantastic, though I don't think it will last very long - the roughing seems to wear off quite quickly. But the effect itself is marvellous and there are so many ways to use it. I have been trying it with a mentalism routine - have them think of a card, then turn away and pretend to turn one over in the deck, then have them name the card and very carefully show them the single turned over card they named while they are watching your hands closely. Blows them away, I love it. And if a newbie like me can do it, anyone can.

Well roughing has been mentioned so I don't think I'm now giving away too much :?

If the roughing is sprayed on you can revamp it with Letraset 103 mat coating spray available at any art shop.

As mentioned elsewhere, don't bother making up your own sets cos its cheaper to buy.

I've a nudist deck I bought from Keith Bennett in bikes (which I don't like, but that's another issue) and I've used it for over 10 years and its still going strong (without a re-spray).

In My Humble Opinion.

We don't normally like seeing TXT speak or abbreviations but this is one of the rare exceptions!

My deck arrived this morning, I'm now the Darren Brown of the office,

I use a NLP approach stating that I would like you to think of a card, for which I will try and influence your decission

I ask the spec to change his mind once or twice so that I can get them to the right card.

A few people are now debating whether I can actually influence their decision

This deck has many uses I will be posting some ideas for patter in a few days

I'd best tell Derren that he's got competition in the form of someone with a VERY similar name...

What a carry-on... I love it here!
