Clear Plastic Bicycle Deck

The Effect
Well it's a deck of cards, so thousands.

Cost
£5 at http://www.topsecretmagic.co.uk/new.html#BicycleClearPlasticPoker

Review
Was ordering various other stuff from the above site when I saw these. I'll always go for anything different. The cards are very thin & bendy, probably thinner than a normal deck of bikes.
Part of the card is see thru.

Handling.
I found just fine, I can't fan the cards as well as a normal deck but shuffles, cuts, dl etc are as easy to work on these. In fact a dl is great because the card can happily be taken right off the deck & waved about, no gap & so thin it just looks fine. With a normal deck I'll only ever turn over face up onto the deck.

Overall
Well it's only a fiver, looks a bit different to a normal deck, I'll be using them from time to time.

Johnny, are these the ones that come in a pale blue and pink color?

One thing that makes this deck really nice, is it can really help you refine and perfect your elmsley. These cards are completely unforgiving, so practicing with these will help you hone your skills.

Other than that, I've noticed people sometimes have a hard time reading the numbers and suits (court cards aren't as difficult) - as there is limited space to display them.

I think the ones you are refering to Demitri are the Bicycle artistic range, these come in soft pastal colours, blue, pink and green.

The one Johny has posted above is a clear plastic, so you can see through the cards... nice idea, not sure how well this would work for DL and colurchanges though :D

No - they're the same cards. I was just wondering if they made this version in darker colors.

It says red and blue, but they don't match the red and blue of the rider backs.

Color changes - I'd say the ECC would be a bit tricky - but doubles are not a problem, as long as your technique is sound. They're a really good practicing deck.

I have a pack like that, but they are not bikes and I have never used them, but I might start using them as a practice deck like you said Demitri :D

Just a bit more info on these as some of you have asked.
Their trademarked to the United States Playing Card Company.

They come in a clear plastic case ( )

Their is around a 5mm strip of clear plastic on the outside. Then a dark light blue filling with the card value. Then another see through bit & then in a lighter blue in the center the value of the card with the spots or picture. Obviously the backs of the cards are all identical.

Colour change isn't going to be that noticeable as their all shades of the same colour, in my case blue. However elmsley is fine, I can do an okay count & if anything their easier as the front & back design are the same thus a c**k up stand less chance of being noticed. Finally as I said in the review, a dl is just as easy with this deck but has the advantage of being able to display the card away from the deck more comfortably.

Hope this helps answer any questions.

These look awesome, and a great price as well

Just a quick question though...do these wear out the same as normal bikes, or due to their plastic nature last longer? In addition, why haven't I ever seen anybody using these? They look terrific-there isn't some kind of fatal flaw is there?

longer lasting

this may be an old review but new folks read it sometime, so I just wanted to add here that I own and love my clear bikes they do last longer due to them being plastic they spread nicely on felt they are not as good with fanning in the hand but fan great on felt also you can do card thru window with these cards w/o using anything sticky (magicians wax) all you need do is wet the card first and it will stick to glass also for signing cards then wipe off the signature when done no cards wasted water doesn't hurt them and they last forever buy one now!

I've just got some of these too - £3.99 from magicbox.

They're quite fun, really, and good for practice - which is what I got them for - and the box is well worth having. However, I think that they get too much audience reaction that distracts from what I'm trying to do with them.

Also, while they spring nicely they are rather noisy!
