Guest magicians

I thought it would be a great idea to have guest magicians on the site for a day or so, I have noticed that another site does this, for example Paul Daniels, Eugene Burger, Daniel Garcia, Banachek, etc.

They then come on the site for a day or two and answer questions asked by the members.

I don't know if this is possible or if it's already been suggested (I searched for it and didn't find a result, so I presume it hasn't), but I defiantly think it would be a good idea. What do you guys think?

Regards,
Brook

Great idea! Magic Woods does that and it is a great success. We have Angelo Carbone right now. If we do thid, please try to get Jay Sankey. Thank you!

I imagine this would be easier said then done unfortunately. The idea isn't bad in theory though, could work.

I used to do this at my old forum.

Brought in people Like DG, Bizzaro, and other performing professionals. Some big names, some not so big. Well 'big' is a funny word.
They were all working pros around the world, but not all were known in the magic world. Now and days, if you dont sell anything or have been on national tv, you really arent known.

We tried this a while back and had Luke Jermay as our guest for a week. Although we asked for questions etc to be advised so they could be passed on in plenty of time for full answers, there weren't all that many and it was felt at the time that it was a good idea but ought to have had more support. Perhaps it's time to try again?

It's a nice idea, I know Dave's often on the computer in the evening for Q&A sessions with pro cyclists on a cycling forum he goes on.

I don't know how easy it would be to arrange though.

I think it's definately a good idea. There are more members now, more people with more questions. I think if the planning is correct and the questions are worked out then I imagine it to be a great success.

I have learnt a great deal from this forum and am very greatful, but you can never learn enough :)

Its a great idea and may I put myself forward as the first guest of the week. I wont have anything that profound to say or indeed anything of any insight at all but they will be long replies and well written with no spealling mitsakes.

Rather than just for a day or two these magicians could be invited to become full time members. If an email was sent out to a lot of pro magicians I'm sure some would want to join and regularly discuss magic.

well it is a really good idea, I'm thinking of interviews posted and indexed in the Magician's Hall of Fame category, this would answer a lot of FAQ's from people who want to know more about their favorite magician
