TM Meeting Ooop Norf (That's Up North for you Southeners.)

I was thinking about possibly arranging a get together for some of us, up north this time, so we can get a look in as well.

Most trains run to/from York. (OK, so its where I live too, but what the hey).

Any dates?

York's a pain to get to from here, but Manchester has many fine bars...

Now theres a thought. It is a very nice place. Dont know my way round as well, but i guess neither does anyone else not from there.

Yeah, it would be nice to put a name with the face (?) :? Wait. Reverse that.

So we got 3 people interested, and they say three's a crowd.
But we want a party - not a crowd!

doesn't Manchester have a "magic" bar? would be an easy enough place to get to i think. but perhaps Leeds would be better? since it's more central and all (and has nothing to do with me living 15 minutes away from it). i could provide sleeping space for a couple of people probably, if they needed it. anyway, i'll be checking this thread a lot, consider me in!

Leeds would be even better for me. National express all the way

Excellent, I would love some more information about the magic bar in Manchester?

I had a bad encounter with National Express, so I think I will stick to car.

It just seemed like all of the meetings were in the south (with the obvious exception of Blackpool), so it was our turn.

However Leeds would be easier for me as well.

Wow, 4 people, A SLIGHTLY BIGGER CROWD!

Keep spreading the word.

I'd probably make the effort of a drive through to York. It's on the mainline for those wanting to use the train or even National Express (for the very brave).
Leeds traffic and one way system makes it a non-starter for me. It's a nice place but a horror to navigate even with the GPS. By the time I'd driven to a rail station I may as well just drive the extra few miles s that rules out public transport (not that I use it anyway).
Manchester? Well that is way down SOWFF! and you said you wanted a meet for the Northerners. :)

If it was in Newcastle (or even Durham... ahem) I'd probably make the effort to travel. Don't know whether a lowly student such as I can afford to travel over to manchester!

Newcastle would be pretty sweet since its only about 40 mins on the bus from me.

Looks as if there would be at least three maybe four at least if kept along the east cast mainline. I'm sure a 'poor' student could get to and from York. ;) Durham is even better for me but simply adding extra possibilities for venues does not help in organising a venue.

I'm happy with leeds as long as someone meets me at the train station since i suck with directions. (Little incident coming back from plymouth to durham where i couldn't find my own house in the dark)
