removing ink from a playing card?

what works best to remove designs on cards,
nail varnish? white spirit?

Do you mean the whole card or part of ?
    If it is the whole of one side then the easiest and best option would be to just purchase a deck of blank facers/backers. If you are only wanting to remove part of the face or back (from bicycle cards) then try a good quality soft rubber.
The problem with nail polish remover and wotnot is the smell will probably linger on the card :)

Nail varnish remover on a cotton wool ball or for more intricated/delicate removing, an ear bud. Bud :-)

It certainly would if it was a signature, but I think he means the actual printing on the card :)

    Made up Monte Cristo deck using just an ink rubber (or "eraser", perhaps :oops: ). Bit stronger than an ordinary pencil rubber and takes less time. Think Andy Nyman suggests fine steel wool (?) in GET NYMAN DVD but I found that leaves "scarring" of sorts

    yeah well its to make a gaff deck really, so i can scan cards in and re print them. i know your gona say buy double blanks lol but i have a few throw away cards i want to test it on first.

    well i once used my roughning fluid and if u wipe it when it aint dry yet:P it wipes of the ink:P?

    Paint Thinner is a good spirit to remove the ink...
