How to make someone pick a card

I've recently been working on an effect where two hands of poker are dealt, and the spectator loses three times. Even when they can see the cards. Apparently Derren Brown has performed this trick, but i haven't seen it.
I want to perform it with it looking like they get a 100% free choice out of two cards, but always choose a certain card.
I use the old 'magicians choice' method. But this is tricky to pull off cleanly three time in a row. I have the first two deals sorted, but am struggling with the face up deal.
I hope this makes some sense to someone. I have tried to explain without giving too much away.

There's a scam very similar to this in Paul Zenon's book, "100 ways to win a tenner". I have a vague recolection of how it works but I wouldn't want to say just incase I'm wrong.

There's a principle in magic called the Judas Card. It is used with many poker deal effects, and I believe I am right in saying that one of the places that describes it is in one of the first 4 Basil Horwitz books - although it may be in Nick Trosts book called - (danged if I can remember).

Anyway I will look it up tmw as the effect described is a really beautiful poker effect. a poker hand is dealt three timesand each time it gets fairer and fairer, but still each time the spectator will lose. (the last time the spec chooses the cards as they are shown face up...)

I suspect that goldfish is also right though as it sounds right up Paul Zennons street, and is the sort of thing that would fit nicely into the winning a tenner book.

I think the Nick Trost book is called "the card magic of Nick Trost" and the more I think about it that is where the three poker hands effect is. As I say I will look it up.

theres also a Darwin Ortiz effect (mexican poker)that uses the judas/jonah card .. its in "At the card table" and is done over 5 "deals" each time the spec/vitim has increased control of who gets what card but still loses every hand

Jonas - that's right. My apologies as far as I know it has never been a judas card (although the name fits quite well really)...

I know this effect. Yeah. I don't know if that's the name for it, but "Judas card" sounds just right. You can pretty much imagine why it's called that way.

You will find this in one of the self working books by Fulves. I have a suspision it is also in Scarne on cards, but I wouldn’t swear to it.
I last saw it done a few years ago on a special about Ricky Jay.
