    31st October 11.05pm on Monday 31st October (50 minutes) on Channel 4.

A special dark and scary Halloween treat introduced by 'the storyteller' Derren Brown. Three horror fans get a Halloween experience like no other as the boundaries between fact and fiction are blurred to take them on a uniquely dark and unnerving journey. Set up by family and friends, the three unsuspecting fans find themselves in the middle of real life stories which turn out to be dark and twisted tales. Using their families and teams of actors, and drawing on the greatest traditions of ghost stories and spine-tingling British classics such as Hammer House and Tales of the Unexpected, this unique format looks and feels like a drama but at its heart has an unaware central figure taken into a mysterious and creepy world created around them. Be prepared to hide behind the sofa, close the curtains, and think twice before you answer the door.

I rather enjoyed those tales! At just over 30 minutes for all three, there was no time to lose interest as can happen with some tales. Perhaps best described as Roald Dahl Tales of the Unexpected crossed with Derren Brown and add any other horror tale you want!

The Dinner tale was, for me, the weakest of the trio but still refreshingly good compared to a lot of fare served up as TV shows these days. I wonder if Iain Sharkey and David Brittland can be persuaded to write more?

If you missed these Tales they can still be downloaded from C4 On Demand.

Yup I really enjoyed those too. I liked the dinner tale, I thought that was creepy and really felt for the poor girl. The fortune teller one was the one that I thought was weak, I was surprised he blamed the fortune teller, I'd have been pointing my finger at the B&B owner.
