A cracking looking book on spirit slates by Chung Ling Soo has just caught my eye. :D

I (legitimately!) downloaded that one some years ago and it's a real belter - William Robinson was a truly creative magish, shame he's mostly known for dying on stage in the bullet catch effect.

Here is an excellent resource of public domain magic books: https://www.reddit.com/r/Magic/comments/5wci5y/to_get_a_new_trick_find_an_old_book/

It was posted by magicofthemind here.

I've just finished reading Oliver Ho's How to Read Minds and Other Magic Tricks.

It was written for children, but I found it useful for learning some basics. I would buy it, I would recommend it to complete beginners.
