A picture on each card. I get the impression they may have playing card symbols on too though. It's hard to tell from the description and there's no clear illustrations.

I have this deck and can recommend it very highly. There are no playing card symbols, just a picture and word on each card -- A for astronaut, D for dog, etc. They're all different, quite attractive, and the deck looks exactly like something that might be used for children's educational games. There are two different cards for each letter of the alphabet, making a 52-card deck in all.

As a bonus, the memorised order is both very easy to remember and almost impossible to spot. It's not simple alphabetical order, so you can spread the cards and show them to be well mixed.

The cards do have four colour-coded "suits" if you want to do something that would involve suits (people/occupations, animals, plants/foods, objects), but this is not obvious if you don't want to call attention to them.

I wrote this in reply to the post about cards in Hamleys, but I now can't find the post.

Do you get two of each card, like two of the first picture, two of the second picture and so on? Or several? For my effect I think I'm best off with two, and that works with the alphabet flash cards (Kerry Summers), as you get two of the letter A, two of the letter B and so on (different pictures but the same letter, which is fine if I buy two decks and mix them).

One PLF Picturecard Stack contains 50 different pictures.
BUT the Depicting Thoughts set contains two complete decks or our PFL Picturecards, ... ;)
... plus several extras, ...

Looch does an effect called "memories" I think! and the method is outlined in "Peek Performances", can't recall the author. Its a great effect.

a few days later...
The author of "Peek Performances" is Richard Busch and the effect is outlined on pages 79, 80 and 81.
I realise that the original posting is old but the info I have provided may still be of use to some of you.
