I've just tried sending someone a PM on here and got the message along the lines of, "the requested users to be added do not exist".
The user in question is Tony Hyams - I know it's a couple of years since he's posted on here, but does that mean the account is now locked due to inactivity, or is there something I'm missing ??

Tony's registration is still current and potentially active. As you rightly say, he hasn't visited for almost two years but the PM system should still work - no idea why you got that error message, sorry. I've sent a PM to him to test the system and I got the message that the PM was deivered successfully.

D'oh ..... I feel like a bit of a dork now lol.
My mistake - I typed the "subject" in the "find a member" box .... no wonder it came back with "the requested users to be added do not exist" .... I doubt very much that there's a member called, " Facebook - Magicians International" ....

I sometimes find myself typing my password in the Username box which, of course, means the password is shown in plain text for anyone looking over my shoulder to see .
