That's a good line!

I was thinking that it would be nice to have a list of quick little lines that could inspire and help performers. So if you have a nice line that helped as a performer in any way please add to the list.

I'll start with some I can think of right now:

Magic happens in their mind not your hands

they don't care about you, they cear about what you can do for them

the less the effect speaks for itself the more you have to speak for it

an artist makes the difficult look easy, a showman makes the easy look spectacular

talk to them not at them

they wanna see your performance not your props' performance

laugh with them not at them

1) As a magician, if you fool somebody, you have succeeded as a magician. If you made someone feel foolish you have failed as a human.
2) Pay attention and listen to your audience
3) Don't run if nobody is chasing you.
4) Always leave them wanting more
5) Once is magic, twice is a lesson

There's no magic without an audience

Practice makes permanent, thoughtfulness makes perfection

I want them to be participants not onlookers

If they like you they'll like what you do

You want to be hired by them, why do they want to be entertained by you?

And audience is like a bank account you can't take out, until you put in

Technique is not a substitute for presentation skills.

Choose an effect by the effect it has

A week trick remains week no matter how clever the method

Real magic is a skillful presentation of even the obvious.
No method ever entertained someone.

An amateur will practice to get it right. A professional will practice so that it won't go wrong.

An amateur will find new tricks to perform to the same people. A professional will find new people to perform the same tricks to.
