At last, the New TM Competition!!

OK folks, as so many of you have asked for a competition and agreed to support it, here we go!

The general rules are at ftopic46444.php so please go and read them now, we'll wait for you right here.

Rules read, marked, learned and inwardly digested? OK let's crack on.....

The intention is to have a different theme for each competition but as a starter, this is an open comp, any effect which can be videod and posted on Youtube will be fine - as long as it doesn't breach copyright etc.

The closing date for this competition is April 14th and links to the entries will be posted here after that date for you all to view and vote for your choice. Entries received after April 14th can't be included, sorry.

Once you've finely honed your routine, get a good video of it and post it on Youtube (don't ask me how, I have no idea) and PM the link to mr invisible. You can also copy in Lady of Mystery, Rob and Mandrake but make sure it goes to Gary first and foremost. 'Why's that?' I hear you ask, well that's because he's kindly offered to oversee the comp and will be offering a prize from his shop. Other TM members have offered items as prizes so there will be more than just a first prize.

There you go, the comp is now officially open so let's have plenty of entries to get this series of competitions off to a flying start.

Assuming there's enough support there will be another competition in due course.

Can I check what you mean about breaching copyright.
I presume any commercially available routine that has performance rights sold with it would be OK. Is that right?
Also, should it be to camera or "real life" performance?

In effect, please don't claim a routine as your own if it's someone else's and by all means credit the inventor or author if you can. Just a small point but one we have to include. The vid can be to camera or real life - whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Don't worry about 'fooling' us, you probably will anyway but that's not the idea - just pretend we're all muggles and looking forward to an evening of magic from some talented performers.

Fab, that's what I thought. I'm obsessional about accurate credits myself :)

Does the video need to be filmed especially for this competition, or can we use previous footage (as I already have a video of me performing the routine I plan to enter, and am a bit too busy right now to film it again)?

Thanks

Hi There.. Either way is OK? Just received a link this morning that was made 2 years ago. So go ahead, with whatever you have, its all fair game, as long as the performance is no more than 5 min..
Thanks Garry. 8)

Not really the sort of info we can advise at this stage, it's early days yet as many of those interested have yet to video and post links to their effects.

Another question which has been asked is whether the professional and semi professionals on TM will have any sort of advantage. Certainly they will have had more experience at performing but that's about it. All 'umble amateurs and skilled professionals will have exactly the same chance of winning. On that basis, how about some of the workers on TM submitting a vid for consideration?

As all entries will be judged by you, the members, you'll get to see 'em all :D
