Not stictly magic but I thought you might be interested.

Type: A book!

If you are into mentalism, particularly cold reading using props, this is an excellent source of stuff to use. It was written as a serious guide to predicting the future and performing real readings using:

    Playing Cards
    Dice and Dominoes
    Tea Leaves
    Crystal Gazing
    Dreams
    Numerology
    Physiognomy
    Phrenology
    Chirognomy and Chiromancy (palm reading!)
    Graphology

There is also a large section on astrology.

The book is over 600 pages long and crammed full of the kind of vague statments that could apply to anyone, all presented based on the system used to gain these insights.

Whilst I don't currently perfom a great deal of mentalism I am planning to move in that direction and have therefore been looking stuff about cold reading. I then remembered this book, I have had it for years and never really bothered with it, but went back and read through it and it is great. The astrology section is probably the best for those who do character reading, or would like to, as there is a long description of the personalities of people governed by each sign, each one of which could apply to anyone. I present a brief outtake of one of these, if you think it applies to you then tell us below what star sign you are!

.... no matter how airy might be their flights of fancy, they never lose contact with the Earth and terrestrial matters, and their imaginative and speculative powers are always tempered by sound common sense. This practical outlook is one of the leading traits of ****** subjects; they are fond of work, and even those of the most refined type are not ashamed to work with their hands........They are usually of a happy and mild disposition and, though acutely sensitive to slights and rebuffs, are slow to anger.......

Some of the stuff may need a little bit of modifying to be useful but in general quite a good book.

I am not going to give it a huge rating as it is very specialised and you will have to know whet you are doing already to make any use of it, but it might not be a bad supplemint to someone in the learning stages or if you want to add some basis for your readings, so 6/10.

One slight problem is that I think it is out of print, but I did this search on Google for it.

Cogito, ergo sum.
Cogito sumere potum alterum.

It could easily apply to any well-known drunk!
