today i recived marvins magic executive collection I
and i would recomend it highly, the tricks r very easy with practice and u can have hours of fun and. and it has my favorite trick, the dynamic coin trick

How about listing what is in the kit and how good you think each trick is, so that anybody thinking of buying it has something to go off?

Dynamic coins is definitely a little gem - in fact I may even go as far to say a mini classic.

Maybe you could let us know all the items that come in the "Executive edition", and how you would rate each one individually for quality and effect.

It could be useful for others also thinking of getting this very classy looking set.

ahh the joys of marvins exec set no 1.

ok list of parts as i remember them:-

dynamic coins excelent brass caps and ring for coin transpos and penetrations.
big prediction card 52 chances to get it right :wink:

.
chineese sticks well made and lots of scope for byplay.
wizard / stripper deck excelent card deck and loads of tricks locates and forces.

well worth the money as a starter set peeked my interest and started me on the road to magic.

Can't go wrong with this collection.

May I also mention that I slated the quality of this stuff previously - but my 'seige-worshipping' nephew recently bought one of these sets (from Woolies, I think - of all places!) and I must say I was stunned at the content and quality of this stuff.

I showed him the ropes (you know, the cut n restored ones!

) and he managed to pull off a pretty good show.

It's easy to learn, technically impressive - and an excellent place to start for budding magicians. It's also, as mentioned, a pretty good set for experienced magi who've not got some of this stuff.

You could do A LOT WORSE for your money!

Region of £30, I think. I will double check where nephew's was from, but I'm almost certain it was Woolies.

Problem solved then, phew.

I have seen Marvin kits in woolies (always thought poor quality without actualy looking, for some reason) so I'll pop in next time work allows me to unchain myself from the pc.

sorry just been polishing ********** (ummm...not so cool! YankeeTom) tombstone.

it because of marvines magic in a nice presentation case that i still to this day bring my gear in cases to shows and have a place for everything in my act otherwise it would probably been shove in a carryer bag all mixed up.

I notice there is also an executive set 2. Where the magic includes The Great British Coin Trick, Flying Coins, The Energised Coin, Mind Reader Magic Cards and the Executive Magic Wallet.

From Alakazam, this is now around £30 (was £35), and if bought with set one, both are approx £55.

Ah....my first magic set. I know the executive magic sets are really good, but what about the kids range, are they any good? I doubt if they are the same quality but does anyone know if there are any good tricks in them?

mom not much in the way of good tricks in the kids selection, a few prediction tricks that could be scaled up.

and quality tends to be basic plstic and cheap card im afraid.

Ah.......The reason I ask is that my friends little sister is into magic, but £30 is out of my budget. I know she had a few sets last Christmas from her parents, but they now have missing parts, an awfull crime. So I would not be willing to hand over a £30 set for it to experiance a similar fate. I shall stick with a selection box.

marvins do astreet magic kit for about £14 which comes with a cool bag and some good tricks, a haunted key and prediction cube to name but two oh and some good paddles ok ok thats three.
theres a lot for your money and a shoulder bag to keep your goods in great.

ok, just thought id add this here as an extra to the comments on the dynamic coins. I own a set of these and it is definetly an excelent effect. But this trick is now becoming increasingly available to laymen in shops such as hawkins bazaar. So the question is just how many "laymen" do you think have purchased/have a friend who has purchased and told them the secret? Also when doing a set is it worth taking the risk that the spec knows the secret?
