If you are just starting out in magic, I seriously recomend this book. At the begining of each chapter, there are some "golden rules" about performing in front of that sort of audiance. There is also some "Final Thoughts" on some things to keep in mind when performing those effects. There are also a few gags as well but some really nice effects for the begginer. The best thing about this book is that it gives you somewhere to go once you've finished the book. It gives a long list of tricks in the "Tested trickery " section giving advice on what tricks you should buy and when you should save your cash. There's also names and addresses of some magic dealers, both British and American, Magic magazines, magic book suppliers and the address for the Magic Circle. At the very end there's "recomended reading" showing what books will help you develope your skills. Oddly enough, Modern Coin Magic and The Royal road To Card Magic have not been included, but expert card technique has
