Name: Vanished and Gone
Price: $20
Type: Card/mentalism

Effect: Show a deck of cards and tell the spectator that only one card is missing from the deck. Ask them to think of a card, but without saying it aloud. The spectator is then given the deck and asked to flip through the cards one by one, until they find the card they thought of. No matter what card they think of, it isn't there.

This is a great trick that really fools people, even other magicians. I've always liked tricks in which something a spectator only thinks about is figured out in some mysterious way, and this trick is perfect forn that effect.

It must be added though, that this trick has two possible outcomes, there is an 'out' involved. Without revealing too much, lets just say that the spectators card can either VANISH OR BE 'GONE', VANISH AND GONE being two seperate meanings.

I have to disagree with Brian, i dont think magicians will be fooled by this effect, and by no means is the deck examinable. You can however make this trick really good if your performance skills are of a high calibre.

I have only performed this effect a few times, and the reactions i have recieved are of amazement, but for some reason i dont like the unexaminibility of the deck, and the fact that 50%
of the time, the spectators card will be in the deck, and not have vanished at all.

I give it 7/10

I apologize for being a little misleading in my review, it wasn't my intent. Rather than saying the card isn't there, I should have said that it's "gone", as Mo mentioned.

The reason I said magicians are fooled, is because I have known of magicians to be fooled by this trick, so that was something from experience.

At first I also thought that the outcome in which the spectator's card was in the deck was not so great, but I've had spectator's who had that happen who were just as amazed as spectators with the other outcome, some even said the "gone" outcome freaked them out a little. And of course, as you mention, if performed with a good presentation, either outcome should be impressive.
