Name : N.F.W by Gary Feed
Price : £11.99 www.abrakazam.com Type : Card
Performance time : about 1 min
Reset : 30 seconds in private
Time to learn : about 30mins - 1hour
Examinable : No
What you get : A pack of gimmicked cards. In a wallet.

Effect : The magician shows four jokers one at a time face up. Then the magician magically makes all four jokers turn face down in the pack one at a time, this is done slowly and cleanly. Then with a confuse look on the magicians face he turns over the four cards to reveal that there are no jokers but FOUR ACES!!!!

Comments : This is a nice trick, this is ideal for table hopping. Your probably wondering what N.F.W means, well i've been told it means No Feasible Way, but the reactions i've had are No F****** Way!!!! The downfall with this trick is that it is not examinable. Although you can show them back and front very cleanly.

There is a very well performed video clip of this in the card section of www.magictrickshow.com

Rating 8.5/10

The only problem I found with NFW is that the tape came off very quickly. I tried every thing to get the same effect but found nothing. Then I was performing ufo yoyo and thought of useing the wax the supplied with the trick. Only using a very small amount of this wax worked just as well as the original tape. I now only use this, as I find it just as unditectable as the tape.
I have to agree that this is a great trick and when done well is exeptionaly good reaction getter.

this trick has become my favorite for the moment. it always gets surprising reactions. it makes you look like you have the quickest hands on earth! i always get asked, "hey where did you put those jokers???" if you perform it correctly it makes you look 100% clean at the end. and as far as the tape is concerned, the one that comes with it only lasted me two days, so I went to the local store and bought a whole roll of it for less than a dollar. now i can perform this trick whenever I want and as often as I want.

Hey there !

I just purchased this trick a week ago, and i agree, what an amazing trick. If you use the basic handling, its quite easy to do also, as long as you can perform the Elmsley Count fluently.

I had the same problem with the sticky tape too, but when i initially purchased this trick i remember the backing to the sticky gimmick which you peel off had the reference 3M , and this meant that it is Scotch tape, Type 3M. You can buy a roll of this double sided tape in WHSmith.

I think this is a good trick, but I think that the description of the elemsly count was a bit rubbish...

if you need a description of the elmsley count then go to cardtrickcentral.com and go to the 'sleights' section. keep in mind that the Elmsley count is used in almost all packet tricks and is one of the most important sleights you'll ever learn. the key is to do it smoothly and without hesitation. Good luck!

Maximus...

To what do you refer when stating "don't waste your money"???

NFW is possibly one of the easiest and astounding packet tricks money can buy. The gimmick you are all referring to is EASILY replaced, even to a somewhat better effect than the original.

Time spent learning sleights and tricks pay dividends when using effects like NFW... the Elmsley count is not the be-all and end-all, and if you can take a little time out to study card sleights, you'll use your own 'strengths' to make the handling easier and more convincing for your own style.

The gaffed card is only used in the last part of the trick... and as long as you look after your cards, they'll serve you for years.

If you're new to magic, and you're keen to do card tricks, you're well advised to get some background knowledge - buy the Royal Road to Card Magic...

must admit that NFW is one of the most visually spectacular changes on the market (in my humble opinion of course) would be a boon to any aspiring card dudes armoury

Mog...

Your opinion has been upgraded from 'humble' to 'respected'.

Back to thread...
NFW may seem 'old hat' to some people, but you must always try and imagine how fascinated YOU were when you didn't know how the magic was done...

To see four jokers turn to four aces, with NOWHERE to go within seconds is quite astounding.

Theres NO F&@£@G WAY you can fail to impress with this one.

I don't have NFW and we don't stock it at Studio9, but a kid came into the shop on Saturday with the NFW cards that he had bought off someone on the internet and it arrived without instructions.
I normally wouldn't just ask for instructions but I told him I would do my best to find them for him, is there any chance that one of you who has this trick could PM me with instructions, or even better e-mail me a scanned copy of them?

Thanks a lot,
Nick

Does anyone do the beginning sequence where you show all the jokers or do you find it unconvincing aswell,

Ben

As mentioned in reply to your message in the Tips forum, I use the Flushtration or the Orion count to show all four cards as jokers. It takes some of the heat away from the Elmsley.
