Cost: £29.99

For many this is the best Pen-thru gimmick available. The usual trick will be to borrow a note of somone (a £20 works best to watch the worry on their face) and to create the illusion of the pen going through the note. The pen is withdrawn and the note is seen to be unharmed.
There have been many other similar tricks but this one has the following advantages:
1. The pen is an 'ordinary' plastic papermate seen in any office. No suspicion will be aroused.
2. The gimmick is strong - some moves are possible with this pen that other pens may not be able to do
3. Because of the strength of gimmick, the pen can be quite forcibly 'ripped' out of the note without fear.
4. The effect is visual and audible (this really makes it a killer)
5. NO switch necessary at the end. Immediately examinable!(Not many tricks can boast this)

I do not like the standard Pen-thru-anything as one has to switch at the end - this may ruin the effect. I do not care for the 'Perfect Pen' from Cornelius either as I do not think it is examinable (others may correct me, but I found the mechanism immediately).
The instructions also include other tricks, including a coin shell for coin transpositions. Do not under any circumstances carry out the other trick instructions such as 'pen with a wobbly nib gag'. Such tricks should be strangled at birth. Also I would not suggest making the hole in the borrowed note 'move about' as most people will realise the method if you do.
Marks: 10/10
Would I buy again if I lost it? You bet.

I agree this is a superb trick -- it's what got me back into magic again after a LONG absence.

Here's a handling tip for removing the pen at the end:

Most instructions have you "rip" the pen sideways through the bill to remove it. To me it's much more effective to simply hold the bill right in front of the spec's face and pull the pen straight back out the way it went in. This can be risky, especially if you have a model with a somewhat weaker gimmick, but here's a way to pull it off every time. First, instead of putting the pen through the center of the bill, put it through about 3/4 of the way towards one end. Hold everything so that the bill is facing the spec, and the end with the pen through it is to your right, with the pen's tip pointing toward the spec. Grasp the bill at the top center with your left fingertips, and raise everything to eye level. Hold the pen in the right hand in "writing position," with your fingers straightened out as far as they can go, and your fingertips all the way against the bill. Now your right hand is going to make two quick motions simultaneously: draw your fingertips inward by bending your knuckles, and at the same time bend your wrist slightly downward. This action quickly twists the bill so that the pen rips out sideways, but looks like it's going straight back through the hole. DO NOT pull back from your elbow, as that is the motion that will send the gimmick flying across the room or, if you're particularly unlucky, into your spectator's eye. The move takes a few tries to get the feel of it, but once you've got it you'll never miss.
