This really does work if you can get the audicence to stand in the right place. Though this trick shouldn't really be performed right away.I have gotten many people on this but i have also failed a lot too. Anyway i was wondering if there are any other good methods and\or if i should perfrom any other tricks that will help sell this one.

Do a keyword search on this Discussion Board for Neo-Rise or Levitation. You should find some stuff that may be of intrest to you.

Best wishes and Happy New Year to all!

The main thing about the levitation is that you stand about 8 to 10 feet away from the audience at a 45° 'backward' angle. And like sammy said, just go to a good search engine and search for balducci + levitation . And many site's will appear. Good luck!

I like this one alot. I did this on a trip to Virgina, and freaked out alot of people. I could never figure out what angle to do it at. One guy i met in Florida said that if you make almost a 45 degree angle with your....you know, it can be done at most angles.

I have always used the 45 degree rule of thumb but a very good magician recently suggested this to me:

one step over for every three steps from the spec.

Seems about right to me and helps when dealing with specs more than 10 or so feet away.

Practice and experiance are good guides for this.

<FONT COLOR="0000ff">I stand about 5 feet away, and at an angle, like you said. But you should do a few tricks get them laughin' gigglin' and thinkin' that your really magical, and you really have the power. But if you don't know exactly how to do it then, like every1 has said go to a search engine and look david blaine levitation, balducci etc.

Usally when I do the balducci I'll them a story like: do you believe in magic then I'll tell then like do you believe in lightness and then I get the audience to stick in a place while I get in position so I just do the trick and they freak. (usually) I do the trick so I show them that my knee are straight. I suggest 45 degrees at 6 to 10 feet. Always keep eye contact. If you do it well it is amazing but if I miss I'll tell them that it is a joke and keep on going with something alse.

What happens if people are on the side of you. I have had this problem, where the 45 degree now changes. Is there any way you can keep the people in front of you?

For those who are having problems doing this trick:
TIP: not only should you use the 45 degrees rule, try to perform this trick in a dim lit area. This will reduce the chances for someone to see the "trick" of this illusion.

TIPS: wear dark, long pants, wear dark shoes, make audience stand about 8-10 feet away at 45 degree angle, and act like you're having a hard time levitating
