Like you i thought this sounded great. I had lost my Raven and was looking to replace it and i thought this would be a good purchase. To be honest i have never used it. When i recieved it i found myself checking the envelope to see if i had missed something!
I find the handling unnatural and restrictive but i suppose, as with most things, a little practice would iron out some of the problems. Sorry for being so negative but i was very disappionted with this.

FINK.........

for a cheaper alternative check out "vernets universal pull"

Has anyone heard of the GOkumpull? Or the Pull-eez? I've seen these on various forums, and I really want to purchase a good allround pull but I'm not sure what to get. I have a metal meshed cig' pull whicih I bought for just £2 in a local magic shop and its the best trick I have in terms of reaction.

Can anyone help? Is the Universal Pull going to be the same as the Universal Raven, the GOkumpull and the Pull-eez? Whats the difference with them all? I have small hands, so the smaller the 'clip'/'dumping pot, then better for me.

Be glad of any advise people can offer.

Thanks, Jon.

Sorry to open up an old thread, but is this the kind of thing that makes a silk disappear from your hands?

I've been inspired by one of the books (Henning Nelms, I think) I've been reading to get a stage act together to perform at a charity fun-day where I'm going to be compering all day.

Will this pull enable me to invisibly 'throw' something across the stage to appear elsewhere?

 Well I knew that! I'm just making sure the way I think it works is the way that it does work... know what I mean?

universal raven

Postby hangman1 » Mar 15th, '05, 09:47

I bought this about a year ago, and i was gutted that i had. For what you get it is a complete rip off, stick with the original.

I should just say that it's perfectly possible to use this sort of thing close-up. I once did a 20th Century Silk effect at work and completely amazed someone with the vanish (more so than the finale).

I think the blurb for the Universal Raven is very misleading. If you were disappointed because you thought you were getting something like The Raven, fair enough, especially if you already own something similar. However, I recommend you work with it and you'll find that you are able to do some very interesting things.
