I bought a trick called "Trans Thought" as I wanted a good table-hopping trick using "Zener" ESP cards (which use symbols such as square, circle, wiggly lines etc.). I bought the trick from Magic World, the only place I've found it on sale - see www.magicworld.co.uk/acatalog/MagicWorl ... _Up_7.html and scroll down to see the trick.

The performer freely shows two sets of five ESP cards. One set has red symbols and a red back design. The other set has blue symbols with blue back designs.

The cards from one set are spread apart from each other with faces upwards. The other set is held face downwards and shuffled by the performer.

A spectator is shown each of these face-down cards one by one and asked to guess which symbol it might have on its face.

After each guess has been made, the face-down card is openly placed on top of the chosen symbol.

When the five pairs of cards are turned over they are FOUND TO MATCH PERFECTLY.

I was really looking forward to getting my hands on this trick, but when it arrived, the gimmick seemed so simple that I thought it would be blindingly obvious to anyone with an ounce of sense and observation how the trick worked. Cautiously, I tried it out on family members and they appeared amazed. I wasn't entirely sure they weren't just being nice, so I took it down the pub and lo and behold blew away a couple of punters and the landlady.

It really does seem to work, but I'm still frightened to try it out in a more professional situation as I feel that, sooner or later, someone is bound to see how obviously the trick is done and blurt it out openly to my total embarrassment!

Has anyone else bought this trick and been rumbled?

I haven't been rumbled with this trick yet and I agree the principles are simple. I thought exactly the same as you but found the key was to casualy put them in my pocket and flow into another trick (Non cards).
