Try to pinch the double between ur left thumb and first finger at the outer end, ur first finger positioned a little more to the right then the thumb, almost at the corner. I do it like that and the cards stay aligned...
And ofcourse...crab the singles the same way. If u don't understand my explanation I can make a vid...

Right thumb a little above middle of the right side. Rest of the fingers underneat the card. The first finger being a little "infront" of the thumb.
