My work is also my hobby, as I work as a computer technician, programmer, developer, architect etc. Besides being a computer geek, I also:

- play the guitar
- play the piano
- play the trumpet
- watch too many movies and tv series

For myself, physics and engineering are my hobbies.

As well, I am researching pseudoscience. I am a TA for a class that teaches pseudoscience, and at almost every lecture, the professor uses techniques of magic to demonstrate how easy it is to fool someone, how easy it is to use these techniques in a very unethical manner.

To understand critical thought it is good to observe the countless number of instances where critical thinking has not entered into play. (I have amassed over 600 references covering only the top 8 or so major pseudosciences)

But that's just me.

Pseudoscience is smashing for magic! I love logical fallacies myself. People simply can't help falling for them.

I can't think of any hobbies except going to the pub and watching sitcoms. I'm working my way through Blockbuster Online's entire catalogue. I can sit and watch an entire 6-episode, 3-hour DVD in one go. Some of the stuff from the early 70s is still very funny today. Man About The House had me in stitches, for instance.

My other hobbies include

Tai Chi - keeps me fit!
Music - I play/teach bass guitar... mainly funk as I enjoy slapping and popping! I listen to rock and metal and enjoy gigs... looking forward to Maiden in December
Films - mainly martial arts and horror movies... I love the ultra-violent Eastern Cinema films like Hard Boiled and Ong Bak.
Stand-up Comedy - bit of a comedy geek and used to run a comedy night with my friend last year. Then we both got better jobs and didn't have as much time. Still enjoy going to live comedy though.
Reading - I like browsing through charity bookshops... they sometimes have some real gems in them.
Computers - I'm a network and data comms engineer for a living, and I have just bought myself an XBox 360. So all the above hobbies have now taken a back seat whilst I spend my evenings playing Oblivion!

Cheers!

Actually, joking aside, I do have another hobby or two,

I just lurve :

Movies (Sci-fi and horror especially).
Playing the musical saw (such a weird and haunting sound).
Drinking real ale and red wine.
Watching cabarets and circuses.
Reading novels (Flashman Chronicles being a favourite).
Partying very, very, very late at night.
Drawing and designing stuff.
Big band jazz and swing (Glenn Miller, Gene Krupa, Louis Armstrong and the like)
Waffling nonsense with my comedy partner (and fellow refuge from the 1930's) Dr Pandemonius Fish.
Being with my girlfriend (does that count)?

Oh yeah and talking to the folks on here...

I've dabbled in a few other things.

Sport wise, I am into marathon canoing, currently working towards competing in the Devizes to Westminster race again and then th Yukon River Quest next year.
I still enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee, which I took up when I was at uni, but I don't often get the oportunity.
I used to do Jujitsu and Kendo for a couple of years, again while I was at uni.
I read quite a lot, love Terry Pratchett, Micheal Crighton and Bernard Cornwell.
I enjoy messing around on a computer, dabbling with programing but never really getting much further than the basics. I consider myself reasonably competent with HTML and I repeatedly try PHP and MYSQL but I don't have any books so tend to rely on the internet for help which often is quite hard.
I played Trombone while I was at school, preferring swing and Jazz to the concert band I was in, I still blow down it occasionally and have only gone a bit rusty in the last 6 years, constantly intend to start taking lessons again.
I just bought a bass guitar and decided to learn to play. Started picking it up quite quickly so I will probably start taking lessons in that sometime in the next couple of months.
The odd bit of image editing with The Gimp and 3d stuff with POVRAY.
I gave up ballet and ballroom dancing when I was about 15 'cos it clashed with bands I was in but I carried on Tap dancing till I went to uni and found that I was better than the teacher at the uni classes.
I will be taking up Salsa in a week (my sister's a pro dancer and talked myself and her housmates into it)
Real ale, I currently have a collection of nearly 100 different (empty) bottles that I have drunk over the last year.
I spend a few hours every monday playing Halo with 'Da Boyz' and generally thrashing all but two of them.
Currently my garden is too small, but when I had a larger one I used to do quite a lot of airrifle target shooting.
I play email chess with a mate from uni.
I am a Scout leader too. That takes up a lot of my time.

On top of all that I work as a scientist and take a healthy interest in everything interesting.

Hmm, I always wondered why I didn't spend much time doing nothing, I think that explains a bit of it!

I play drums and guitar and a number of other instruments - mainly percussive(djembe etc).
I enjoy reading and discussing philosophy, theology and psychology.
my job is working as a programmer - mainly c# and java, and a lot of integration with databases - postgress, oracle and sql server. Was a web developer for a while and lectured web development and scripting.
I like building - as in building on to my house, as well as carpentry (but because of time I have a whole lot of unfinished jobs)
I really enjoy spending time with my wife and kids - that's probably my favourite.

Somehow, I'm coincidentally a mini-you. LOL *Whoa, scary thought. Someone being just like you...*

I'm studying to become a computer engineer and hopefully pick up other computer related stuff while I'm at it.

I used to play the piano, had an interest in guitars, not much with the trumpet and I enjoy watching comedy movies/series.

Mostly watching anime. :)
