My hobbies, if you can call some of them that are, magic, obviously, both practicing, performing, studying and creating it, writing (plays, mainly, had one done, working on some more; don't mind other forms of writing but plays are my preference), listening to music, talking and hanging around with my mates, psychology, reading (travel books especially) and just generally having a good time.

Hi guys!

New member here... 1st post! :)

Been into magic for over 30 years but my other hobby (apart from karate) is collecting antique amusements and pinball machines! These two pieces from my collection will interest you guys.

First is a Bryans String Cutter Magic Illusion Viewer: http://tinyurl.com/msbn2 . This is an English mechanical amusement made in 1949. Put in an old penny, crank the handle and it performs a magic trick for you. Not very baffling these days but back then it was a miracle. All done by a complex arrangement of cams and wheels... genius!

Second is a Bally 'Theatre of Magic' pinball machine, complete with magic trunk, circular saw and loads more. A modern machine (1995) but already very collectable and a lot of fun to play. A couple of pics here: http://tinyurl.com/ogkyp and here: http://tinyurl.com/qg8hj .

Welcome to the forum Yorkshire Pudding! I recognise that string cutter...come to think of it, I think I saw it when I was down in Yorkshire...?

Why not pop over to the Introductions and introduce yourself properly there? Again, welcome to the forums mate!

Hobbies :D

I love to read. I will read anything I can get my hands on, with the exception of anything to do with sports

I write slightly disturbing fiction.

I enjoy Philosophy, I've been studying for 3 years and I'm about to embark on a Degree in Philosophy, looking to teach Religious Studies in the future.

I've flirtied with various instruments (cello, trombone, piano, guitar, recorder etc) but never learned enough to be able to play well.

Seemingly unsually on here, I'm not interested in computers.

I role-play. Yes I am that sad

Wow... I'm sad enough to roleplay too :D

Vampire The Masquerade anyone? :D

*digs out old Malkavian character and goes insane*

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Pffft.

I'm not sad enough to play that....okay I lied. I do.

Surely Malkavians can't 'go' insane, since they already are :?

I thought that was the Tremere. Been a long time since I played any of that stuff though.

Personally I'm more malkavian

Ah yes, Tremere!

I admit it's been a long time since I played it as well and I'd forgotton about them, more wizard than magician I reckon though. Ravnos are the masters of illusion and far more tricksy.

I must admit that I generally played Ventrue, though that was mainly because of the game circumstances than my choice.

Those suits just didn't suit me
