Does anybody have any original number forces that are a bit different form the usual think of you birthday subtract x and add y double it reverse it and take the original number away (Ie 1069) style .

Just want a basic preferably not very mathematical number force

linda are you aware of the die / dice force and the hot rod force both are number forces disguised as physical choices.

Before I learnt any sleight of hand, I learnt a very simple number force that I modified slightly.
It makes the spectator think they have a free choice (how can you influence a number they choose?) but really you force the card you want on them with 100% accuracy.

If you need any details then feel free to PM me

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

...can i recommend annemann's 202 forces book...

it has quite literally - 202 forces in it...for cards, books, dice and so on...very overlooked book in my opinion...

i think its about 3.50 from cards4magic.co.uk somewhere or other... :)

There's quite a lot of forces involving common numbers (pick a number between 1 and 10) etc. and without involving maths, cards or other pre-numbered items, you may just have to rely on these random methods.

Good shout on the book above though, that is PLENTY food for thought...

Guess force

Postby krazy ace » May 8th, '06, 21:13

as I'm new i don't know if i can say this simple force method but ill give it a try:

for forcing a number from 1-10 an obvious number they pick is 7 or 2

for forcing a number from 1-5 2 3

then there is the magicians choice one where you have 4 card/objects and using the method used for the hot-rod pen you can adapt this for routines.
even in one of my routines i use this force

I guess you could call "The trick that fooled Einstein" a number force of sorts.Either way - a great effect.

And then there's the 10-20 force (as used in "Further Than That" and other such effects)

hi there
there has been alot of work done in the area of number forcing. Banachek has some great bits in his classic book Psychological Subtleties. there is also a document by Richard Busch called "Number Please" that works with some very straight forward and well hidden mathematical principles.

hope that helps
