Like that bottom photo Mark - some kind of promo thing?

Here's me at the beginning of a night out in Newcastle for my birthday a few weeks ago... needless to say I didn't look quite so "gathered" by the end!

P.S. Amusing awkward situation - we were staying at the family home of one of my housemates, who is really pretty (she looks like a blonde Trinity from "The Matrix"). However, an artist friend of hers had done a portrait of her which is in no way flattering, and can be seen over my shoulder.

It's a very awkward moment, because you want to say "oh, you're much prettier than that!", but then you're dissing this portrait they've spent good money on and hung on their wall... but you don't want to say "it's really good" because surely they secretly know it's a bit ugly?! So then they'll think you think they're ugly... aaaagghh...

It's really strange to picture someone and talk to them for a while and than see a picture and it's not what you expected...

I thought farlsbourough looked like Hugh Laurie. I really need to stop basing people on their avatars. It's a terrible habit.

Yes, those of us who met Mandrake in Oxford recently can confirm that his avatar is a true portrait of the man. Quite remarkable and uncanny.
