You mention Fiona Apple as if that's something to be proud of....

Wow - one picture and that's supposed to change my mind? I guess I should just forget that she looks like a tweaked-out heroin addict 99.99% of the time.

What was I thinking? This is what she always looks like! She is constantly done up by Hollywood makeup artists and stylists. Don't forget, that lighting crew is ALWAYS one step behind her. And, because she's a celebrity, they always have the junior level designer who photoshops her with the airbrush tool in real-time wherever she goes.

David Blaine is so far from a failure, he only failed in one stunt.

Dunno. Does she always stick together like that? You might have to pay extra at the cinema. It'd be an outrage, I tell's ya. An outrage!

EDIT: THis is all very well, Holly, but where can I get a lovely fat lass to advertise me? She looks like lots of fun!

You're all reading far too deep into this...
We weren't saying he was a failure as a person.
We were saying that he failed to do what he set out to do.
That was his "[specific] failure".

Respect to the man for bringing magic to the mainstream.
And best of luck with dating smackheads and making lots of money by standing still for varying amounts of times in varying situations.

But the thread was started about his specific failure of the feat he attempted. Not as a "David Blaine sucks so much" thread, nor as a reason to start insulting people because they DON'T fancy Fiona Apple.

Personally even in the heavily made-up/airbrushed picture I still think she looks like a bit of a dog.

But that's not what the thread was started about, nor really, what we as magicians should be bickering over...

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Well of course David failed if all you're looking at is that particular stunt-he'd be the first to admit it,but what would be the point of a thread for that? He wanted to break the world record-he did not-end of story. It seems to me that the whole point of this thread was to eventually introduce the fact that he dated Fiona and to get some decent pics posted...but come to think of it Josie's cuter...

As a Nutricionist, I must say, I don't like the type of girls that looks like an anorexic or bulimic. I prefer a little more meet. But that's only MY flavor....

You can discount that one. He'll have had to pay for the extra policing, just like footy clubs or concert promoters have to.

around the box yes

however there was uncounted costs for the extra police at the stations and that and the emergancy call outs to the box that he wasnt charged for / refused to pay for, (this info came from a met police friend of mine so its only what i have been told!)
