Static charge a playing card?

Postby themagicwand » May 16th, '06, 15:53

Is it possible to give a card a static charge? Just so that when someone picks it up it makes them go "Ooh!"??? Have a lovely routine that would be just perfect if it could end with the punter getting a buzz!

In short I would say no! paper does not conduct electricity. If you have £150 or so spare you can buy Electric Touch from good magic suppliers.

It is a shocking price  (couldn't resist)

I made my wife dissapear just by arguing with her!!!

I knew I'd got the idea from somewhere... this thread in fact! ET will indeed allow you to pass a static charge through a playing card (obviously you would need to be handing it to them though).

hmmm i was wondering, do you think that would work if they were plastic coated? Rubbing them together should create a charge wouldnt it?
