You are entitled to your opinion. Maybe you don't like that style of magic.

Some people hate card magic. Doesn't mean it's BS, just not what they like.

I would be very happy if I could even PERFORM anywhere near as well as Derren, let alone be able to perform his effects, even though I don't use Mentalism, I can still enjoy it.

May I ask why you have no respect for Derren Brown?

I've got to agree. Even if you don't like his style of magic you've got to respect his ingenuity and originality. He's created himself a niche in the magic market (an impressive feat in itself) and now can perform anything and still make it appear brand new and impossible. A very clever man indeed. Has my complete respect.

He he. That takes me back. We watched it the day we picked up our O-level results in 1983! A travelling video library had actually been prosecuted for carrying it under the counter. Now you can get it on DVD at Amazon for a very respectable £14.99...

It teaches you nothing about american football, by the way. And if you're looking for a text on gamekeeping, forget Lady Chatterly's Lover!

The DVD I'd like. Hmmm... I don't know if it exists, but I think I'd like to see more of Jasper Maskelyne's stuff from before WWII. Paul Xenon did a show about him a while back that had some footage of his stage stuff. It was the first time I'd seen anyone take a gobful of rasor blades and a thread and very carefully pull them out as a chain. He was lauded like a film star at the time, but today hardly anyone knows him.
