Hi - I'm NEW IN HERE!

Postby Diva of Deception » May 24th, '06, 17:34

Hi

I'm new to TalkMagic and I want to know how to fill in the profile. What is the difference between WP and CP? I mean I know what they stand for but what is the difference?

I noticed there was some chat about there being very few females on this board so thought I'd swell the numbers. javascript:emoticon(':D')

I don't know what else to say now.....

See you soon,

A CP is someone like myself who does magic for a living. I do not have another job. A WP has another job and regulary does gigs as well. Welcome to TM

Hi Diva, welcome to TM! I am sure you will enjoy it here! I believe the difference between CP (Career Professional) and WP (Working Professional) is that if you are a CP it means that performing magic is your primary occupation.

Regards

Costas

Hi

Thanks for the explanations. I've always thought of WPs as SPs or semi-pros so I'm glad to have that cleared up.

And thanks for the welcomes too.

Welcome to TM!

BTW all, I am right in thinking that the CP, WP etc. are there so that we all know the skill and level of those we are talking to? If so, surely after from SH onwards everyone is pretty much the same standard but some choose to live off magic?

Cheers,

Chris Pitt (AKA Pitto)

thanks to all of you for being so welcoming.

I am a professional close up magician and balloon modeller although I know there are people out there who don't think the two go together. Well, I find that they do work together for me a lot of the time - but not always, it depends on the booking.

i also write extensively for the magic press. I am an Associate Member of the Inner Magic Circle with Silver Star (whatever that does) and I'm proud to be a member of the British Ring of the IBM, of the SAM and of Watford Assoc. of Magic (known as WAM).

Will that do for starters? :)

I know of someone who will agree with you and I'm sure he'll be here in a FLASH(y)!

Yes, that will do for starters...in fact, I don't think there's much left for the main course! Or dessert, either! :D.

P.S. Thanks for getting my membership sorted :D.
