I'm Chris, I'm 19 and can honestly say I am a complete newbie when it comes to performing magic. But hey! Gotta start somewhere right?
Have been amazed and delighted by magic from many younger years ago as many have and although trying the classic "buying tricks" stuff that you do as a kid, I've never really gotten into serious thinking of learning properly how to perform magic until recently.
So what did I do I hear you ask when I had this revalation, I went out and bought Royal Road to Card Magic of course!!
recommended by a friend who will probably reveal himself at some point I'm currently travelling down this golden path to enlightenment. Unfortuately I'm still stalled a toll gate called exams 
but what you gonna do.
Anyways, I should be getting some sleep, exam tomorrow eep! Hopefully talk to some of you guys n gals in and around the forums.
