Hi Matt, I am not a Moderator, but perhaps I can help. I have access to the MO area and although it can't really reveal any secrets outside of this area, if your questions are straightforward, I don't mind giving you some help.

BTW. The site is I am afraid a bit neglected at the moment, since they are about to move it to a new site.

Sorry Matt, no can do.

The truth is this site is (and I hope the few remaining people that stop by here will forgive me) largely dead in the water. The Moderators very rarely post and I doubt they even read the mails that are posted. Apparenetly there is going to be a change in the near future (I'll believe it when I see it) whereby they are going to link this site to emagictricks.com. This is run by Laurence (a good guy) and is his commercial site.

In the meantime, since the Moderators are unlikely to respond to you, why don't you take a look at "themagiccafe.com". This is an awesome site, regurlarly used by professional Magicians and the good news is they have a Magician's Only Area, that does not require a password. The only catch is that you have to have made 50 posts before they let you in.

Hope this helps... Tony

Ello ladies n gents,

I (for one) read an mail that gets through to my personal e-mail via the fwding system we have at magictrickshow, although i must admit, i have generally had a busy time myself recently. Any applications for MO havent been recieved so i assume Laurence has removed this feature whilst the new site is under construction. I do apologise.

Also many thanks to Tony for keeping this forum at least on some legs whilst everything else goes on.

Dan

Sorry but we really can't do that, it would pretty much defeat the point of having a vetting system and passwords if those of us with access just dished out our passwords to everyone who asked. I would suggest that your best option is as Tony said, have a look at other forums, but keep checking this site for any signs of the promised refurbishment.
Nick

I've found the forum at magictricks,co,uk the best in the UK. Worth checking this out. (for some reason their website url is censored on this board (!), so substitute the ',' for '.')

Other forums include tricktv.co.uk and magicbunny.co.uk

No worry mate.

But please keep poping in. I fopr one really hope Laurence can move this site and link it (in some techey way that eludes me) to his new site. If he doesn't I think it would be a real tradgedy.

... Tony

PS. I hope everyone that reads my mails excuses my applaing spelling!!!

It has been apparent that no e-mails of access aplications are being received for a little while now, it is a technical problem that only Laurence can fix.

I still have access to administration areas, although, again due to tech probs, this is sometimes limited. Obviously there is alot of good information in the MO forum, what a can offer, is a bit of my time to update accounts of people who deserve access to the MO forum. It seems i am the only one doin any admin for this site unfortunately at the moment.

I don't know how this can be sorted exactly as the system isn't working properly... Perhaps if, Tony? maybe you could keep me informed about people who should have access, i trust your judgments, dunno how you want to go about it though. Then i'll see what i can do. Un-orthadox way of gettin people MO access, but the chance is there,

All the best,
Dan

Yea! I'm excited to hear this news. I love all the info being shared here and hope it continues.
Hey Tony, did you ever get your big daddy in the mail. Did they give you the truck that it was shipped in too?!?! I don't know what you paid for yours but I saw the Mega K at chazpro was down to $19.99 or something like that. Also, for you newbies and card lovers above, they had some good deals on videos too. I don't know if they have the PAL format or not, (that is what is used in europe right? I'm U.S.A.er myself) but they had my favorite Daryl videos for $15.00 bucks. I recommend those to anybody that would like to brush up on their card handling skills or like to learn some ways to end your pick-a-card routines. All with your regular deck of cards. Anybody out there who liked David Blaine's "Froot Loops" card trick (Ambitious card, that one that keeps popping to the top and also the one demo on this site that everyone wanted access to those sections for) Daryl's ambitious card video is pretty good. It shows you how to do all of the moves Blaine does plus about 20 other moves to use too (tilt, impromtu duplicate card, etc...) Plus if you are really a do it yourselfer he shows you how to make the gimmick so that you can wrap the deck in rope like he does for his finally to his routine. These are some of my favorite learning tools. Granted some of Daryl's jokes are pretty corny he shows some pretty good fundementals (the Elmsley/ghost count is on there too for you NFWers). Good stuff, any recomended videos or books (already have blaine's book and the puzzles for the prize in it...have no clue, no big secrets given away in it either but a few goodies). Looking forward to any suggestions.

Brenton S. Wright
