You wont be allowed to video the lecture, close up session or evening show.

There is usually no problem with a stills camera, although I always ask permission first. I will be reviewing the day and will have my camera with me, but I will also be asking permission where necessary.

Getting anyone to sign a deck of cards or autograph book will be down to the individual, but I would hazzard a guess that they would be ok with it.

No. In answer to Bananafish I will NOT be bringing James Biss. He would be doing mentalism with people's underwear and I do not approve of it. His best selling book on mentalism caused quite a stir with lots of well known mentalists huffing and puffing in great indignation over it. Something to do with him pinching their tricks. The more huffing and puffing they did the better the book sold.

I do not approve of the book since there are far too many vulgarities in it. I have led a sheltered life and think crudity and magic do not mix. Besides a good third of the book has never been performed by James to a single living soul. When I look at him performing I am often reminded of the old aphorism of Al Baker that "many a good trick has been killed by improvement"

I have told him this to his face. Besides most of what James knows about mentalism has been taught to him by Paul Pacific.

Poor old James got beaten up recently by people that hadn't even seen his act. I hestitate to add that none of his attackers were outraged members of the Magic Cafe who didn't like his book. No-they were merely young hooligans wandering the streets at 2am in the morning.

James went to hospital but he is now recovered although badly shaken up by the experience.

There. All the latest gossip from Toronto.

I meant your magic as aposed to the really good magic that will be down there.

So I would be allowed to do some videos in the place of like Steve and people?

Also Steve if you want a Dragon fanning deck, I would contact Cards4Magic beforehand if they have it and they could bring it. I have already emailed them to bring a few items. 8)

Does anyone who lives between Ipswich and Leeds (preferably Leeds/Huddersfield/Wakefield... possibly Sheffield...) want to arrange something with lifts? i.e. I give you a lift and you give me some petrol money!

Mate, no reason not to go - my picture may look a bit freaky but I'm actually quite a nice guy, and I'm on my own too - buy a ticket and we'll meet up for an early morning pint beforehand!

Mahoney. It would be great to see you there.I hope you can make it.

Attention anyone who has a registration form and has not yet sent it back. I am moving house Monday 9th October. Please see the website for my new address and contact details.

http://www.ipswichmagicalsociety.co.uk/eveconv2006.htm

I appreciate that this is not a great idea for the registration officer to do this at this stage, but that is how things turned out. The chances are I won't have much access to the internet over the next week either, so please be patient with me, or contact me by phone.

I do have Post Office Redirection, so I will get forms posted to the old address, it just may be a little later than you would expect.

Thanks everyone for supporting the convention so far. We will have quite a few members from Talk Magic this year. Including one TalkMagic dealer.

Can we pay by card for stuff? I've got Solo card only.

I'm still planning on how I'm gonna get there. I'm going to Colchester on the 21st and staying over at my brother's. Then I think I'm taking the taxi from his house to Needham Market. Which I think will cost about £20-30. :(

Well the convention has come and gone. And like everyone else I have had the time of my life, I must make sure to come next year. :D

I bought:

Bicycle Masters Deck
Studs x2
Bicycle Vintage decks x2
Sharpie
Wizard PK Ring
Wizard PK pens
Oz's Lecture Notes
Hit the Road
Appearing wand/cane throwaways
and Roxie the Racoon. :D

The lectures, close-up section and evening show were brilliant, I had such a laugh and was baffled by lots and lots of effects.
Oz was a really nice guy, I got a picture with him and "Into the abyss" signed.
And meeting everyone was fun, Katriel and Steve made me laugh. Great guys hopefully we'll meet again next year. :D

If you didn't go, make sure you do next year. :)
