Frosties Advert

Postby Delude » Jun 29th, '06, 17:55

Hey guys, i wander if any of you have ehard this. On the new frosties breakfast cereal advert there is a boy who is singing 'they're gonna taste greeeeeeaaaaaat' and sort of floating into the air. SO MANY people have said that he has comitted suicide as he has been bullied because of this advert. Other people say that he died of cancer as he had it at the time.

I just wandered if any of you know about if he comitted suicide as that is a terrible thing to do

I know the advert and it's one of those that's irritating when it comes on.

Apart from that I hope that the story isn't true as it would be a great shame if it is. I suspect that if true it would have been in one of the papers.

Hi James, it is an urban myth that he has committed suicide due to bullying after this terrible advert. I listen to Radio1 most of the day while I work and the Scott Mills show cleared this up yesterday, apparently the kid is very much alive and in south africa at the moment!

So don't worry he's gona be greaaaaaat, he's gonna be greaaaaat!

lol, on a slightly related topic :P anyone heard of the star wars kid video?

a kid filmed himself in school doing a few lightsabre moves with a golf ball retriever... only he left the tape there an forgot about it. someone found the tape, released it on the net - the kid was bullied so much because of it he ended up in therapy.

 I think the MAKER of that advert should seek therapy...

It's horrific.

And yes, they would have pulled the advert if that were the case. Dead people in adverts are usually famous people. And yeah, the Sun would be getting off it's high horse and preaching to us about how terrible being mean to people is (like it did with some German paper saying mean things about David Beckham)...of course, the Sun never makes personal or insulting comments about anyone...ever.

I kind of find the advert funny.

In America they're called "Frosted Flakes." You can ask any three year old the song and guarenteed they'll sing:

Fosted Flakes are mooorrreee than goood! They're Grrreat!

But driving someone to suicide? Wow...I don't really believe that.

haha! I think just about everyone could...Same thing with Nike. "Just Do It." That's kind of blunt, simple, and demanding. But was found completely by accident. I know the story behind it.
