I guess it just goes to show that one man's gameshow is another man's naff and tacky. Some love "Family Fortunes", I prefer "Wire in the Blood".

Still a very cool effect though, whatever one's preference.

Gotta say the props don't bother me.

I'm not 100% on the little tin we keep the cards in but I generally pull it out & then once I have removed the cards I place it face down on the table with the logo face down.

As to the logos on the card, doesn't bother me at all, in fact after doing this initially to a couple of family members I randomly took hostage, I asked what they thought of this & they both said they hadn't noticed the Diceman logo.

As to the "if they throw a one" I don't get the problem with this. I keep the cards in reverse order. (1 on top & 6 through to 1 going down) I have to keep my hands cupped in order to hide the writing on the bottom so if the spec says a one I just slide out the bottom card?

Regarding making them, I tried this, trying to get the cards lined up so you can have writing on both sides in either word or publisher was a bitch which I managed after wasting around 40 sheets of A4.

But then I haven't so far managed to find any laminating pouches that match exactly to fit in the tin, which they must. I have to use an laminating pouch as otherwise the cuts need to be exact & I can't get this exactness on my home guillotine.

Johnny, if you're having trouble lining it up double-sided, you could go with a slightly thinner card stock and printing two images, laying them back to back as you laminate. This way, it makes the cards extra sturdy, and you don't have to worry about lining them up perfectly.

As for laminating, you can trim them down with a regular blade, but I would recommend trimming them down before laminating.

I read somewhere recently that this effect is essentially the same as "The Happy Horoscoper" by Max Maven from PRISM. Max states that it is a much re invented trick from an original idea of Anneman and Meyer in 1932.
Having looked at the H.H. I can see how Diceman could be done this way,
If it is the same, does Andy mention this in the blurb with the trick.
